Oggi è una giornata all'insegna dello sport. Alle otto della mattina, faccio 5 km di corsa (ok, il tempo non è il massimo, ho fatto di meglio, ma va beh dai...), ed è il modo migliore per iniziare.
Poi mi rilasso praticamente tutta la mattina, prima di andare a scuola a mezzogiorno (è troppo divertente ripetere che, sì, sono entrata alle dodici per finire alle tre!!!).
Dustin, come sempre, è così gentile da portarci a scuola, e ci dice anche un segreto, per il quale scrivo soltanto: "in bocca al lupo, faccio il tifo per te!"

Today is a sport day. At eight in the morning, I do a 5k run (ok, my time is not the best, I have done better, but it's still okay...), and is the best way to start.
Then I relax virtually all morning, before going to school at noon (it is too funny to say that, yes, I went in at twelve to finish at three!!!).
Dustin, as always, is so kind to take us to school, and he also tells us a secret, for which I'll only write "good luck, I'm rooting for you!"

L'allenamento di tennis è produttivo, perchè facciamo degli esercizi su alcune delle mie debolezze (ne ho tante, ma alcune in particolare sono maggiori), come il rovescio. Una volta finito, essendoci il sole e non fidandomi del tempo in Colorado (date precedenti esperienze, oggi fa caldo, ma domani potrebbe nevicare! Quindi, approfittiamoci dell'oggi...), decido di tornare a casa a piedi, scarpinando per più di sei km e sentendomi "completa" (e stanca) alla fine.
Una cosa che noto durante la mia passeggiata è che, su 100 autisti che mi passano di fianco, almeno 60 stanno parlando al cellulare mentre sono alla guida:
Ma dai, Colorado, non mi puoi deludere così!

The tennis practice is productive, because we do the exercises on some of my weaknesses (I have so many, but a few in particular are bad), such as the reverse. Once we're done, since it's sunny and I don't trust the weaather in Colorado (due to prior experiences, it's hot today, but tomorrow it could snow! So let's take advantage of today...), I decide to go home on foot, trudging more than six kilometers and feeling "complete" (and tired) at the end.
One thing I notice during my walk is that, out of 100 drivers who pass me next, at least 60 are talking on their cell phones while driving:
Come on, Colorado, you can't disappoint me just like this!

E alla sera guardo un episodio di Heart Beat con Ann, rilassate sul divano. Bella lì!

And at night, I watch an episode of Heart Beat with Ann, relaxed on the couch. Way to go!

La cosa che mi alletta di più, alla fine di questa giornata, è di mettermi sotto le coperte e dormire, perchè, udite udite, domani (e lo stesso giovedì) non vado a scuola fino alle dodici!!!
The thing that excites me the most at the end of this day, is to go under the blankets and sleep, because, hear ye hear ye, tomorrow (and same for Thursday) I don't enter at school until noon!!!

Oggi in mattinata completo l'ACT: le parti di inglese e matematica sono fattibili, ma reading e scienze sono troppo lunghe per i 35 minuti a disposizione! Ma va bene comunque, mi sono impegnata e ho fatto del mio meglio, ora sono soltanto curiosa di ricevere i risultati e vedere un po' cosa ho combinato...
Ebbene sì, un'altra esperienza Americana è andata...

This morning I complete the ACT: the English and Math parts are doable, but reading and science are way too long for the 35 minutes we're given! But it's still okay, I committed and did my best, now I am just curios to receive the results and see how I did...
Well yes, another American experience is gone...

E poi ho la partita di tennis: io e la mia partner (non nella foto) giochiamo due volte: ci divertiamo, e scopriamo di poter essere anche competitive! Perdiamo uno dei due match, ma ne vinciamo un'altro, e comunque sia non importa tanto: se penso all'inizio dell'anno con cross country, quando non ho mai nemmeno partecipato ad una gara per l'angoscia della competizione, ora sono così contenta di aver vinto questa paura ed aver scoperto cosa significa giocare, condividere, e gioire, oltre che, cosa più importante di tutte, legare con le compagne di squadra.
Fare l'anno all'estero significa soprattutto crescere, e crescere, per me, significa anche questo!

And then I have a tennis match: my partner and I play twice: we have fun, and discover that we can be competitive! We lose one of the two matches, but we win the other one, and it really doesn't matter so much: if I think about the beginning of the year with cross country, when I have never even took part in a race because of my anguish of competitions, I am now so happy to have won this fear and found out what it means to play, share, and enjoy, as well as, most importantly of all, to tie with teammates.
Doing a year abroad especially means growing, and growing, for me, means also this!

Tour all'università di Fort Collins con Ann e Gary: il campus è bellissimo, sembra una città in miniatura (c'è proprio tutto, dalle palestre, ai ristoranti, alle banche, ai negozi...), e la chiacchierata con la councelor è interessante.
Grazie per questa intensa giornata, farò tesoro di tutto quello che ho visto e sentito!

Tour at CSU with Ann and Gary: the campus is beautiful, it seems like a mini city (there's really everything: gym, restaurants, banks, shops...), and the chat with the councelor is interesting.
Thank you for this intense day, I'll make use of everything I saw and heard today!

Ok, forse la neve non è la prima cosa che uno vorebbe vedere fuori dalla finestra a metà aprile, ma questo albero e questi fiori rosa mi conquistano!
Ok, maybe the snow is not the first thing that you'd like to see out of the window in the middle of April, but this tree and the pink flowers conquered me!

Progetto d'arte con Barbara, guidato da Ann, maestra per eccellenza. Facciamo un decoupage, poi lo dipingiamo, sgrattiamo la vernice in eccesso, scriviamo e ritagliamo frasi, scegliamo decorazioni... insomma, ci teniamo occupate per 4 ore buone! Ecco i risultati:
Art project with Barbara, guided by Ann, exceptional teacher. We do a decoupage, then we paint it, scratch it, write and cut sentences, choose decoration... well, we keep ourselves busy for 4 good hours!

Poi mi preparo per andare al cinema con Matt, a vedere "The Boss" -- film che fa davvero molto ridere!!

Quando bussa, scendo le scale di corsa, apro la porta e...

Lui tiene in mano un cartello e delle rose biache, chiedendomi "Verresti al Prom con me?". Ma certo!!!

Sono MOLTO emozionata, e tremo un pochino, ma nello stesso tempo mi sento la ragazza più fortunata del mondo: non vedo l'ora!!!

When he knoks, I quickly run down the stairs, open the door, and...

He's holding a sign and white roses, asking me "Would you go to Prom with me?". Of course!!!

I am VERY moved, and I tremble a little, but, at the same time, I feel the luckiest girl in the world: I can't wait!!!

Oggi è una tipica giornata in cui mi sveglio, faccio colazione, faccio un lungo Skype con la mia famiglia (includendo anche Justin per i primi 45 minuti), e rotolo avanti e indietro dal letto al divano, il tutto rigorosamente in pigiama.
CHE VITA RAGAZZI!

Today is a typical day when I wake up, have breakfast, do a long Skype with my family (including Justin for the first 45 minutes), and crawling back and forth from the bed to the couch, everything absolutely in pajamas.
IT'S A BEAUTIFUL LIFE GUYS!

Ad un certo punto, faccio lavorare un po' il cervello, completando questa simulazione per l'ACT, esame per il college negli USA, che faremo martedì a scuola.
At some point, I make my brain work a little, completing this ACT simulation, as we'll take the exam at school on Tuesday.

Quello che Justin mette davanti alla mia camera e che vedo appena mi alzo la mattina!
What Justin puts in front of my bedroom and that I bump into as soon as I get up in the morning!

Volevo fare la sorpresa alla mia mamma, e farle vedere il vestito per il Prom tra due settimane (giorno del ballo), ma, facendo Skype, non ho resistito alla tentazione, così me lo sono messa e fatto vedere a tutta la family: è il vestito dei miei sogni, e sono contenta che piaccia anche a voi!!

I wanted to make a surprise to my mom, and show her the Prom dress in two weeks (day of the dance), but, while Skyping, I could not resist the temptation, so I wore it and showed it to all the family: it's the dress of my dreams, and I'm so happy that you all also like it!!

Ceno sul divano mentre guardo un episodio speciale di Grey's Anatomy, che dura due ore e che è emotivamente intenso: bene bene.

I have dinner on the couch while I watch a special episode of Grey's Anatomy, which is 2 hours long and which is emotionally intense: very good.

E va bene essere una larva per tutto il giorno, ma ad un certo punto mi sento in colpa e cerco di fare qualcosa di utile, così riempio il lavandino con acqua e detersivo, e inizio a lavare tutte le pentole sporche che si sono accumulate!
And it's ok to be a couch potato all day, but at one point I feel guilty and I try to do something useful, so I fill the sink with soapy water and start to clean all the dirty pots around!

Ho una mamma Americana qui, e le piacciono i cantucci, quindi questo è quello che faccio questa sera. Ti voglio bene Ann!
I have an American mom here, and she likes biscotti, so this is what I prepare tonight. I love you Ann!

Oggi un grazie non speciale, ma specialissimo, va alla Maddi: grazie per essere l'amica perfetta, tu sai che mi hai fatto un regalo grande grande oggi e te ne sono grata. Sei così importante per me!

E finalmente arriva il tanto desiderato Venerdì!
And the much awaited Friday finally comes! 

Nella classe di cucina, ricevo questo pacchetto di caramelle come premio per aver vinto un Kahoot la scorsa lezione: non le voglio mangiare, ma sono comunque contenta di riceverle!
In the cooking class, I receive this candies package as a prize for having won a Kahoot in the last lesson: I don't wanna eat it, but I'm still happy to get it!

Oggi piove, il cielo è grigio, e fa freddino: questa è la mia medicina, goduta fino all'ultimissimo sorso!
Today it rains, the sky is grey, and it's quite cold: this is my medicine, enjoyed till the very last sip!

On the school bus

Un giorno Gary stava raccontando ad amici di quando cucino, e ha detto che lo si può capire dai miei post serali. Ebbene, questa sera mi fanno cucinare per cena, ed è questa la notizia della giornata. Non vedo l'ora di andare a casa ed iniziare, e, mentre sono ancora a scuola, ogni persona che mi si avvicini, si sentirà dire con entusiasmo che... <<Questa sera cucino!!>>

One day Gary was telling to friends about me cooking, and he said that you can tell from my nightly blog. Well, tonight they let me cook for dinner, and this is the news of the day. I can not wait to go home and start, and while I'm still in school, every person who approaches me will hear me saying with enthusiasm that... <<This evening I cook !!>>

Oggi abbiamo una partita di tennis, quindi mi metto un vestitino per andare a scuola (in accordo con tutte le altre ragazze della squadra). Buongiorno a tutti!
Today we have a tennis match, so I wear a dress to go to school (together with the other girls in the team). Good morning everybody!

Poi parlo con Brenno, amico del VV che si accinge all'esame di maturità. Con questo messaggio, riesce a riassumere la mia bellissima vita d'oltreoceano, oltre a farmi scoppiare a ridere davanti al cellulare nel bel mezzo della lezione: caso vuole che, a conferma della sua tesi, stiamo guardando un film in classe...!

Then I talk to Brenno, friend from my school in Italy who will be taking the senior's final exams soon. With this text ("Ahahah sometimes I read your blog and I see that you have the good life there! Just running, starbucks, cooking, tv series, never something about homework!"), he can sum up my beautiful life overseas, and he can make me start laughing in front of the cell phone during the lesson: the fate wants that, confirming his hypothesis, we're actually watching a movie in class...!

E ti rispondo così, Brenno: con un progetto di gruppo nell'ora di Storia Americana e questa mitica slide che il prof proietta. Cogli il riferimento? Una notte da leoni ti dice qualcosa?

Ops, la partita di domani è stata cancellata per noi donzelle della Junior Varsity...

Il tempo ci sta giocando brutti scherzi, soprattutto in questo weekend lungo (no scuola lunedì - Brenno, di nuovo...), in cui nevicherà e pioverà. In realtà però non mi interessa troppo: la notizia della giornata è la previsione per sabato prossimo, giorno del mio compleanno: tengo le dita incrociate, perchè se sarò così fortunata, non so cosa farei dalla gioia!!!
E, a proposito di compleanno, oggi ho parlato con Valentina da Milano (complimenti per la patente!!): mi ha detto che sta pensando al video da inviarmi per gli auguri, e mi ha fatta emozionare soltanto al pensiero: grazie grazie grazie!

The weather is tricking on us, especially for this long weekend (no school on Monday - Brenno, again ...), when it will snow and rain. In reality, however, I do not care too much: the news of the day is the forecast for next Saturday, my birthday: I keep my fingers crossed, because if I'm so lucky, I do not know what I would do for the joy!!!
And, speaking of birthday, today I talked to Valentina from Milan (congrats for the licence!!): she told me that she's thinking about the video to send me for the birthday wishes, and she moved me just making me think about it: thank you thank you thank you!
