GIORNO 81

Oggi è finalmente Halloween! 
Dopo un lungo Skype con i miei genitori, la mia Francina e il mio fratellone, pranziamo (mangio solo un'insalata mista perchè voglio aver fame per cena -- Briana cucinerà il chili, che è uno dei miei piatti preferiti qui in America!!!) e poi scaviamo le zucche: io decido di intagliare una specie di pipistrello e, nonostante il coltellino mi si spezzi fra le mani a metà dell'opera, sono contenta del mio risultato. 
E' la prima volta che scavo una zucca per Halloween, ma penso proprio che non sarà l'ultima, perchè mi diverto molto.
Poi andiamo da Briana, Elora, Shane e Justin, dove ceniamo e assistiamo alla "pittura" dei capelli di Shane: sceglie i colori rosso e blu ed è proprio "sul pezzo"! Posto il video qui sotto, e si può vedere solo tramite computer!
Poi usciamo per il Trick or Treat e suoniamo a tutte le case del vicinato che hanno lasciato accese le luci nel porticato (è il segnale che indica che i padroni di casa sono disponibili a distribuire caramelle). Raccogliamo così tanti dolci che, alla fine del percorso, la borsa è quasi fin troppo pesante! 
Lascio tutto il mio bottino ad Ann e Gary, perchè, ad essere sincera, questo tipo di dolci non mi piace molto, ma li ringrazio perchè questo è stato il mio primo Halloween e non potevo chiedere di meglio!!!

DAY 81

Today is finally Halloween! 
After a long Skype with my parents, my Francina and my brother, we have lunch (I only eat a salad because I want to be hungry for dinner - Briana will cook chili, which is one of my favorite dishes here in America!!!) and then we carve pumpkins: I decide to carve a species of bat and, despite the little knife will break in my hands when I'm almost done, I'm happy with my result. 
It's the first time I scarve a pumpkin for Halloween, but I'm pretty sure it'll not be the last one, since I really enjoyed it.
Then we go to Briana, Elora, Shane and Justin's, where we have dinner and we see  Briana painting Shane's hair: he chooses red and blue, and he is funny! I'll post the video below, and you can watch it only through your computer!
Then we go out for trick or treat and we ring all the doorbells in the neighborhood where there's light on the porch (this is the signal which indicates that the people are willing to hand out candy). We collect so many sweets that, at the end of the night, the bag is almost too heavy!
I give all my booty to Ann and Gary, because, to be honest, I don't really like this kind of sweets, but I thank them because this was my first Halloween and I could not ask for anything better!!!

GIORNO 80

La colazione è stata apparecchiata da Ann, con un calice inquietante ed un ragno sotto la ciotola per i cereali: Gary, che è sveglio quando facciamo colazione, osserva la nostra reazione, divertito. Quando stai per versare i cereali nella ciotola e, nel sollevarla, scorgi un ragno, due sono le possibilità: non capisci cosa stia succedendo e la vista di un animaletto peloso non è poi molto gradita (questo è stato il mio caso), o ti spaventi e quasi ti metti ad urlare (questo è il caso di Barbara)!
Vado a scuola travestita da infermiera e mi diverto a vedere i costumi (talvolta poco probabili!) che alcuni dei miei prof indossano!
Nel pomeriggio vado a correre e poi ceniamo con Will e Briana.
Dopo mangiato, Ann, Briana e Barbara vanno in un "bosco dell'orrore" -- io non ho il coraggio! -- e tornano a casa stravolte ma contente.

DAY 80

The breakfast has been laid by Ann, with a creepy glass and a spider underneath the bowl for cereals: Gary, who is awake when we have breakfast, looks at our reaction, amused. Here is the thing: when you're about to pour cereal into your bowl and, while lifting it up, you spot a spider, there are two possibilities: you do not understand what's going on and the sight of a furry little animal is not very pleasant (this was my case), or you get so scared that you almost start to scream (this is Barbara's case)!
I go to school dressed like a nurse and I like to see the costumes (sometimes unlikely!) that some of my teachers wear!
In the afternoon, I go running and then we have dinner with Will and Briana.

After that, Ann, Briana and Barbara go into a "haunted woods" - I was not brave enough! - and they come back home twisted, but happy.

GIORNO 79

Scuola, "shopping" al supermercato (shampoo, caramelle da distribuire ad halloween e mochaccino, che però è troppo dolce) e poi Loveland School per festeggiare halloween con i bambini della scuola elementare.

DAY 79

School, "shopping" at the grocery store (shampoo, candies to distribute at halloween and mochaccino, but it is too sweet) and then we go to Loveland School to celebrate halloween with elementary school children.

GIORNO 78

Allarme incendio a scuola (pare che una prof abbia bruciato un sandwich mentre lo stava riscaldando nel microonde!), poi bus, camminata con Barbara, "gita" a Longmont per comprare le zucche che intaglieremo domani sera (è una specie di fattoria allestita apposta per halloween), cena, Quantico e lettuccio!

DAY 78

Fire alarm at school (it seems that a teacher has burned a sandwich while she was heating it in the microwave!), then bus, a walk with Barbara, "trip" to Longmont to buy pumpkins that we'll carve tomorrow night, dinner, Quantico and sweet bed!
