DAY 156

La giornata inizia con un buon caffè e qualche pagina dell'Alpha Test di medicina. Sono particolarmente contenta perchè, dopo aver visto la foto pubblicata sul mio profilo, mi scrive Valentina da Milano, e ci scambiamo opinioni sull'università, specializzazione, alternanza scuola-lavoro ecc. Te l'ho già detto ma te lo ripeto, mi fa tanto piacere che parliamo e ci teniamo aggiornate!
The day starts with a good cup of coffee and a few pages of the Alpha Test of medicine. I am particularly happy because, after seeing the photos I posted on my profile, Valentina from Milan wrote me, and we exchange opinions about university, specialization, school-work etc. I already told you but I'll repeat myself, I'm delighted that we talk and keep each other updated!

E, di nuovo, a Starbucks, ma questa volta per fare i compiti di matematica, leggere (sono arrivata ad un punto di Anna Karenina che mi appassiona molto, anche se non rivelerò particolari per evitare di rovinare la sorpresa a tutti quelli che non hanno ancora letto questo bel libro...), e incontrare Ann!
And, again, at Starbucks, but this time to do my math homework, read (I came to a point of Anna Karenina that I'm so passionate about it, although I will not reveal details to avoid ruining the surprise to all those of you who haven't read this beautiful book yet...), and meet Ann!

Preparo pane tostato con cipolle caramellate, che viene molto apprezzato da tutti!

Day81

GIORNO 81

Oggi è finalmente Halloween! 
Dopo un lungo Skype con i miei genitori, la mia Francina e il mio fratellone, pranziamo (mangio solo un'insalata mista perchè voglio aver fame per cena -- Briana cucinerà il chili, che è uno dei miei piatti preferiti qui in America!!!) e poi scaviamo le zucche: io decido di intagliare una specie di pipistrello e, nonostante il coltellino mi si spezzi fra le mani a metà dell'opera, sono contenta del mio risultato. 
E' la prima volta che scavo una zucca per Halloween, ma penso proprio che non sarà l'ultima, perchè mi diverto molto.
Poi andiamo da Briana, Elora, Shane e Justin, dove ceniamo e assistiamo alla "pittura" dei capelli di Shane: sceglie i colori rosso e blu ed è proprio "sul pezzo"! Posto il video qui sotto, e si può vedere solo tramite computer!
Poi usciamo per il Trick or Treat e suoniamo a tutte le case del vicinato che hanno lasciato accese le luci nel porticato (è il segnale che indica che i padroni di casa sono disponibili a distribuire caramelle). Raccogliamo così tanti dolci che, alla fine del percorso, la borsa è quasi fin troppo pesante! 
Lascio tutto il mio bottino ad Ann e Gary, perchè, ad essere sincera, questo tipo di dolci non mi piace molto, ma li ringrazio perchè questo è stato il mio primo Halloween e non potevo chiedere di meglio!!!

DAY 81

Today is finally Halloween! 
After a long Skype with my parents, my Francina and my brother, we have lunch (I only eat a salad because I want to be hungry for dinner - Briana will cook chili, which is one of my favorite dishes here in America!!!) and then we carve pumpkins: I decide to carve a species of bat and, despite the little knife will break in my hands when I'm almost done, I'm happy with my result. 
It's the first time I scarve a pumpkin for Halloween, but I'm pretty sure it'll not be the last one, since I really enjoyed it.
Then we go to Briana, Elora, Shane and Justin's, where we have dinner and we see  Briana painting Shane's hair: he chooses red and blue, and he is funny! I'll post the video below, and you can watch it only through your computer!
Then we go out for trick or treat and we ring all the doorbells in the neighborhood where there's light on the porch (this is the signal which indicates that the people are willing to hand out candy). We collect so many sweets that, at the end of the night, the bag is almost too heavy!
I give all my booty to Ann and Gary, because, to be honest, I don't really like this kind of sweets, but I thank them because this was my first Halloween and I could not ask for anything better!!!

GIORNO 60

Questa mattina passiamo l'aspirapolvere, disfiamo il letti e facciamo la polvere in camera: qui è tradizione pulire la casa prima di andare in vacanza, e quindi è arrivato il momento anche per noi, dato che martedì si parte per... Los Angeles!!!
Poi vado a correre e faccio la doccia, mentre il mio computer effettua l'upgrade a Windows 10 (è stato acceso tutta la notte e, dopo circa 20 ore, ce l'ha fatta!!!).
Nel pomeriggio viene Briana e ci aiuta a prepararci per l'homecoming. Scattiamo qualche foto e poi usciamo: la festa inizia alle 8 e finisce circa alle 11 (mi piacciono questi orari, molto migliori rispetto ai party italiani, che, per non so quale strana ragione, iniziano a mezzanotte e si protraggono fino alle 4 o 5 della mattina successiva!).
Briana, Will, Ann e Gary ci fanno una sorpresa e ci portano al ristorante: è un messicano e mangiamo davvero davvero bene!!! Grazie di cuore, per tutto!!!
Dire che mi diverto è dire poco: grazie a tutti per questa splendida serata, sarà sempre un ricordo vivo nel mio cuore!

DAY 60

This morning I vacuum, change the sheets in my bed and wipe the dust in my bedroom: here it is tradition to clean the house before going on vacation, and it's time for us, given that on Tuesday we leave for... Los Angeles!!!
Then I go running and take a shower, while my computer is upgrading to Windows 10 (it was on all night and, after about 20 hours, it did it!!!).
In the afternoon, Briana comes here and helps us preparing for the homecoming. We take some pics and then we go out: the party starts at 8 and ends at about 11 pm (I like these times, it's much better than the Italian parties, which, for whatever strange reason, start at midnight and last until 4 or 5 am!).
Briana, WIll, Ann and Gary do a surprise for us and they take us out for dinner: it' a mexican restaurant and we eat very very well!!! Thanks a lot, for everything!!!
I had so much fun: thank you all for this wonderful night, it will always be a vivid memory in my heart!

Caro amato Alpha test, si procede a rilento, ma almeno si procede!!
