Un'oretta al Coffee Tree con Ann, mentre leggiamo i nostri bellissimi libri (lei mi batte, perchè nello stesso tempo in cui io riesco a leggere una ventina di  pagine, lei ne completa 60 e finisce il libro. Bhè, almeno ora possiamo guardare il film...)
An hour at the Coffee Tree with Ann, while we read our beautiful books (she beats me, because while I can read twenty pages, she completes 60 and finishes the book. Well, at least now we can watch the movie...)

A scuola oggi: ultimo giorno ufficiale. Colazione con i seniors e pep assembly in palestra. Molto emozionante: ho ufficialmente finito la mia storia più o meno intensa con Thompson Valley. E' stato un piacere!

At school today: last official day. Breakfast with the seniors and pep assembly in the gym. Very exciting: I have officially finished my more or less intense story with Thompson Valley. It was a pleasure!

Il Colorado mi ha fatto una sorpresa oggi e ha fatto risvegliare il sole: anche Chiara si è svegliata e ha fatto una lunga passeggiata all'aria aperta!
Colorado surprised me today and let the sun rise: even Chiara woke up and made a long walk in the open air!

Mentre cammino, vedo un uccellino bellissimo in mezzo alla strada, e quando sto per immortalarlo in una fotografia, vola via. Quando arrivo a casa, allora, lo ricerco su una guida che Ann e Gary hanno appena ricevuto da una coppia di amici, e sono contenta di trovarlo nella sezione "Uccelli delle montagne del West". Si chiama Western Tanager e i suoi colori vividi mi impressionano ancora adesso!

As I walk, I see a beautiful bird in the road, and when I'm about to immortalize it in a photograph, it flies away. When I get home, then, I look for it in a guide that Ann and Gary have just received from a couple of friends, and I'm glad to find it in the "Birds of the West mountain" section. It's called Western Tanager and its vivid colors impress me still now!

Tennis Banquet: è un'emozione forte rivedere tutte le compagne di squadra e i coach! E' stata una bellissima stagione, ho imparato un nuovo sport, che cercherò sicuramente di portare avanti, e sono grata di aver avuto un così bel supporto dai miei genitori Ann e Gary, dai super disponibili coach e dalle divertenti compagne di squadra. Che dire, non avrei potuto fare una scelta migliore!

Tennis Banquet: it is a strong emotion to see again all the teammates and coaches! It was a great season, I learned a new sport, which I'll surely try to improve, and I am grateful to have had such a good support from my parents Ann and Gary, the super available coaches and the fun of teammates. What can I say, I could not have made a better choice!

E poi celebriamo questa fine della stagione di tennis con un buonissimo gelato, nella "casetta rossa" dove andavamo molto spesso all'inizio dell'anno, dopo cena. Qualcuno ricorda? E' un bellissimo regalo!!!

And then we celebrate this end of the tennis season with a delicious ice cream, in the "red house" where we went very often at the beginning of the year, after dinner. Does anyone remember? It is a beautiful gift!!!

Ieri sera ho finalmente iniziato questo libro, che i miei mi avevano spedito a Natale: meglio tardi che mai!
Last night I started this book, that my parents sent me at Christmas: it's better late than never!

Oggi siamo a scuola con questa canottiera per il Summer Bash che abbiamo organizzato con lo Student Council: dobbiamo pubblicizzare, ma fa freschino!!
Today we are at school with this tank top for the Summer Bash that we organized with the Student Council: we have to advertise it, but it is chilly!!

Il prof è seduto su questo trampolino, collegato allo schermo giallo sulla destra. Gli studenti si alternano per lanciare una palla e cercare di colpire un pulsante sullo schermo, che farà precipitare il prof nell'acqua. Non vorrei essere nei suoi panni, perchè pensare a tornare su tutto bagnato mi fa venire i brividi!

The teacher is sitting on this pad, which is connected to the yellow screen on the right. Students take turns to throw a ball and try to hit a button on the screen, which will make the teacher jump down into the water. I would not want to be in his shoes, because thinking about coming back up all wet gives me the chills!

Free laser tag game for being a "Great German Student": wow, can't wait to try it!

Just a very cool cup!

Dopo scuola, questa splendida donna mi viene a prendere e mi porta in macchina a Fort Collins, dove una sorpresa ci aspetta per festeggiare il compleanno. Nella foto, sta cercando le direzioni per arrivare al posto segreto, mentre io sono molto curiosa e la seguo sorridendo!

After school, this wonderful woman picks me up at school and takes me to Fort Collins, where a surprise is waiting for us to celebrate my birthday. In the picture, she's looking for directions to get to the secret place, while I'm very curious and I follow her smiling!

Il ristorante è "The melting pot": ogni tavolo ha al centro di esso un fornellino tipo per la bagna cauda, dove, a seconda di quello che si ordina dal menu, la cameriera scioglierà formaggio, cioccolato, o metterà a bollire il brodo nel quale si cuoceranno il pesce e la carne. E' una cena interattiva, super divertente, che ci permette di chiacchierare tanto, e fra l'altro molto buona!!
CHE BEL REGALO ANN, GRAZIE!!

The restaurant is "The Melting Pot": every table has a melting pot at its center, where, depending on what you order from the menu, the waitress melts cheese, chocolate, or puts to boil the broth in which we will cook the fish and the meat. It is an interactive, super fun, dinner which allows us to chit chat a lot, and which is also very good!!
WHAT A WONDERFUL PRESENT ANN, THANK YOU!!

Durante la cena, Ann mi dà il regalo da parte sua e di Gary: un braccialetto che avevo menzionato mi piacesse molto, e che loro si sono ricordati e che mi hanno comprato per i diciotto anni.
Sono persone così sensibili, e non smetterò mai di dire che sono super fortunata ad averli come genitori.

During the dinner, Ann gives me the present from her and Gary: a bracelet that I mentioned I liked a lot, and that they remember about and that they bought for my 18th birthday.
They are such sensitive people, and I'll never stop to say that I am super lucky to have them as parents.

I love it!!!!!

All'uscita dal ristorante, vinciamo questo libro di ricette, e ci regaliamo un caffè, mentre parliamo di tante cose, e soprattutto del prom (per il quale non vedo assolutamente l'ora!!)
Going out of the restaurant, we win this recipes book, and we give ourselves a coffee, while we talk about many things, and above all about prom (I can't wait for that!!)

La giornata inizia con un buon caffè e qualche pagina dell'Alpha Test di medicina. Sono particolarmente contenta perchè, dopo aver visto la foto pubblicata sul mio profilo, mi scrive Valentina da Milano, e ci scambiamo opinioni sull'università, specializzazione, alternanza scuola-lavoro ecc. Te l'ho già detto ma te lo ripeto, mi fa tanto piacere che parliamo e ci teniamo aggiornate!
The day starts with a good cup of coffee and a few pages of the Alpha Test of medicine. I am particularly happy because, after seeing the photos I posted on my profile, Valentina from Milan wrote me, and we exchange opinions about university, specialization, school-work etc. I already told you but I'll repeat myself, I'm delighted that we talk and keep each other updated!

E, di nuovo, a Starbucks, ma questa volta per fare i compiti di matematica, leggere (sono arrivata ad un punto di Anna Karenina che mi appassiona molto, anche se non rivelerò particolari per evitare di rovinare la sorpresa a tutti quelli che non hanno ancora letto questo bel libro...), e incontrare Ann!
And, again, at Starbucks, but this time to do my math homework, read (I came to a point of Anna Karenina that I'm so passionate about it, although I will not reveal details to avoid ruining the surprise to all those of you who haven't read this beautiful book yet...), and meet Ann!

Libro che mi ha prestato Maddalena e che mi piace molto per due motivi: la storia è scritta benissimo e... ho una scusa per rivedere Maddalena per ridarglielo!
Book that I borrowed from Maddalena and that I like a lot for two main reasons: the story is very well written and... I have an excuse to meet Maddalena again to give her book back to her!

GIORNO 73

Oggi non andiamo a scuola, ma sveglia alle 7: aiutiamo Ann e Gary per la preparazione della vendita di libri per raccolta fondi per un paio d'ore, poi andiamo a nuotare, a scuola per i colloqui genitori-professori e torniamo a casa per mangiare. 
Dopo pranzo guardo un episodio di Grey's Anatomy, provo a fare un test di medicina (mhmh, è ancora troppo difficile...) e poi bussano alla porta: sono arrivati i due pacchi che aspettavo tanto: quello dalla mia famiglia e l'iphone (che però ora non funziona perchè devo comprare una nano sim -- Briana mi porta nel negozio del mio operatore e mi tagliano la sim: ready to go!). Sono contenta!
Preparo la cena insieme a Barbara, e ci sono sia Briana che Will.
Poi guardiamo un film tutti insieme -- "Zoombieland"

DAY 73

Today we do not go to school, but weak up at 7: we help Ann and Gary for the preparation of the book sale for fundraising for a couple of hours, then we go to swim, to school for parent-teachers conference and get home to eat. 
After lunch I watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy, I try to do a test of medicine (mhmh, it is still too hard...) and then someone knocks on the door with the two packages that I've been waiting for so much: the one from my family and the iphone (but it does not work now because I have to buy a nano sim -- Briana takes me to Cricket's shop and they cut my sim so that it's ready to go!). I am happy!
I prepare dinner with Barbara, and both Briana and Will join us.
Then we watch a movie together - "Zoombieland"
