Prendiamo una mocha e la portp ad Ann, ma mi bruciano le mani perchè mi dimentico di prendere il foglietto da arrotolare attorno al bicchiere per renderlo trasportabile, quindi mi scuso con Ann per l'incoveniente ma lei, con un sorriso soddisfatto, mi dice: "Non mi cogli impreparata, ho delle scorte nella borsa!", e tira fuori questo della "La Vita Bella" per me -- Italiano, che coincidenza!
We take a mocha and I bring it to Ann, but my hands burn because I forget to take the napkin to roll around it, so I apologize with Ann about it but she tells me, with a satisfied smile: "I'm never unprepared, I have some in my bag!" and she takes out this, from "La Vita Bella" -- Italian, coincidently!

Con lo Student Council, sono nel gruppo che organizza la Pep Assembly autunnale, e quindi dobbiamo progettare quali giochi proporre. Me ne vengono in mente un paio che avevo fatto in montagna col don e con i quali mi ero divertita molto:

With the Student Council, I'm in the group that organizes the next Pep Assembly, and so we have to plan what games to offer. I came up with a couple that I had done with my friends in the mountains (I remember we had lot of fun):


           1.    Fare un percorso complicato in coppia, trasportando uno spaghetto ai stuoi estremi, cercando di non spezzarlo. Se si rompe, si torna indietro e si ricomincia. La prima coppia a finire il percorso vince.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      
Make a complicated path in pairs, carrying a piece of hard spaghetti, trying not to break it. If it breaks, you go back and start again. The first couple to finish the course wins the game.

            2.   Mettere delle piccole caramelle in una vaschetta e ricoprire di panna montata. I giocatori devono trovare le caramelle il più in fretta possibile, immergendo la faccia (senza usare le mani)!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              
  Put small candies in a bowl and cover with whipped cream. Players must find the candies as quickly as possible by immersing their face in the bowl (hands free)!

Day31

GIORNO 31

Oggi mi sveglio presto: continuo a pensare alla scuola (i due test) e al colloquio in ospedale. Stare a letto è una "sofferenza", quindi mi alzo, faccio colazione presto, e mentre mangio mi preparo una buona pasta al pesto per pranzo (è un ottima medicina per lo stress, la mia amata pasta). Gary si sveglia e mi vede proprio la sto condendo con il pesto!
Andiamo a scuola, facciamo i test e poi nel pomeriggio Ann mi accompagna in ospedale, mentre Barbara e Nanna (exchange student dalla Danimarca -- una ragazza molto molto carina) vanno a prendere un caffè/chai tea.
Nanna dormirà da noi stanotte e sono molto contenta: per cena mangiamo pizza (Domino's) e piace molto a tutte, poi doccia e prepariamo brownies al cioccolato.
Riguardo all'ospedale: faccio il colloquio insieme ad un'altra ragazza e due ragazzi, ci fanno domande del tipo: 
Quali sono i tuoi obiettivi nel lavoro e nella vita? 
Perchè vuoi diventare un volontario al Mckee hospital? 
Quali sono le tue qualità e i tuoi difetti? 
Ci faranno sapere martedì prossimo se siamo stati accettati, per adesso non ci resta solo che aspettare, ma le rime impressioni sul personale e sull'ospedale sono davvero davvero ottime!!

DAY 31

Today I woke up early, I keep thinking about school (I'll have two tests) and the interview in hospital. Lying in bed is a "suffering", so I get up, have breakfast early, and while I eat I prepare a good pasta with pesto for lunch (my beloved pasta is the best medicine for stress). Gary wakes up and sees me just while I'm putting pesto in it!
We go to school, do the test and then in the afternoon Ann comes with me to the hospital, while Barbara and Nanna (the exchange student from Denmark -- a very very nice girl) go for a coffee / chai tea.
Nanna will sleep with us tonight and I'm very happy for that: for dinner we have pizza (Domino's) and we all love it, then we have a shower and prepare chocolate brownies.
Regarding the hospital: I have the interview with another girl and two boys, they ask us questions like: 
What are your goals at work and in life? 
Why do you want to become a volunteer at the hospital Mckee? 
What are your qualities and your weaknesses?
We will know next Tuesday if we were accepted in the program, for now we just have to wait, but the first impressions on the hospital and the staff are really really good!!

Barbara compra questo aggeggio speciale per rimuovere lo smalto dalle unghie ed è davvero divertente vederla immergere le dita e ritarle fuori pulite! 

P.s. Alla fine è lei che mi chiede di metterlo sul blog per la sua famiglia!

Barbara buys this special thing to remove nail polish and it's so fun seeing her putting her fingers into that and taking them out completely clean!

P.s. In the end, we decide together to put the video on the blog for her family (Hi Jean-Francois, Martine and Laura!!!)!
