Buongiorno mondo, è venerdì e sono molto molto contenta, perchè domani e domenica cucinerò tutto il giorno e non vedo l'ora!!
Good morning world, it's Friday and I'm very very happy, because tomorrow and Sunday I get to cook all the day, and I can't wait for it!!

Ho aspettato il risultato di questo test per settimane, perchè era molto più difficile del solito e avevo paura di aver fatto troppi errori. Quando però il prof mette i voti sul registro, e vedo il 100%, rimango stupita, contenta e la giornata prende una piega ancora migliore. Che bello!!
I have waited for this result for weeks because this test was much harder than usual and I was afraid of having made too many mistakes. However, when the teachers enters the grades in the gradebook, and I see my 100%, I am taken surprise, I am happy and the day becomes even better. Hurray!! 

Skype per una mezz'oretta con i miei genitori, e poi per più di un'ora con il mio fratellone. Ho la famiglia più bella del mondo, punto.
Skype for a half hour with my parents, and then for more than a hour with my big brother. I have the best family in the entire world, that's all.

Il mio programma è di tornare a casa a piedi, a bordo della strada (circa un'ora a buon passo), e quando Ann mi sorprende da Starbucks, mi tenta, chiedendomi se voglio tornare con lei in macchina. Per quanto allettante, decido di non accettare, e inizio a camminare, con guanti, cappellino e sciarpa, e cantando a squarciagola (dalla macchina nessuno mi può sentire!!) mentre marcio verso casa.
Che bell'idea, sono proprio contenta di aver trovato la forza ed essere andata!!

My plan is to go home on foot, on the edge of the road (about an hourwalking at a good pace), and when Ann surprises me at Starbucks, she tempts me, asking me if I want to go home by car with her. Despite the temptation, I decide not to accept, and I start walking, wearing gloves, hat and scarf, and singing out loud (no one can hear me from their car!!) while marching home.
What a beautiful idea, I'm really glad I found the strength and did this!!

Per cena, frullato di frutta e verdura e poi Grey's Anatomy. Poi vado a farmi due passi nel vicinato, mentre chiamo la Vale. Ora la giornata è ufficialmente completa e posso andare a dormire, aspettando con ansia domani. Buona notte!!

For dinner, fruit and vegetable shake and then Grey's Anatomy. Then I go walking in the neighborhood, while I call Vale. Now the day is officially complete and I can go to bed, waiting for tomorrow. Good night!!

Dormo fino alle 9, e vado a correre a digiuno per mezz'oretta. C'è il sole e nessuna macchina passa per la strada (sono tutti al lavoro, d'altra parte è venerdì mattina...) e riesco a sopportare la fatica cento volte meglio. Operazione "Perdita chili accumulati in inverno" iniziata!
I sleep until 9 o'clock, and I go running on an empty stomach for half an hour. It's sunny and not a single car crosses the street (they are all at work, it's Friday morning...) and I am therefore able to bear the effort a hundred times better.
Operation "Loosing the pounds I accumulated over winter" started!

Per colazione, preparo questo smoothie con broccoli, insalata, sedano e kiwi. Non posso dire che sia buonissimo, però non è per niente dolce, cosa che lo rende bevibile!
For breakfast, I prepare this smoothie with broccoli, lettuce, celery and kiwi. I can not say that it is very good, but it is not sweet at all, and this fact makes it drinkable!

Sono a casa da sola, perchè Ann va ad una lezione in università (da quello che ho capito, oggi avrebbero visitato una scuola), mentre Barbara è da Briana.Così me la prendo con comodo: studio per il test di anatomia, lavo i piatti e le pentole che si sono accumulate nel lavandino durante la settimana, carico e faccio partire la lavastoviglie e... cucino!

I'm at home alone, since Ann goes to a college lesson (from what I understood, today they were gonna visit a school), while Barbara is at Briana's.
So I take it easy: I study for the anatomy test, wash the dishes and pots that have accumulated in the sink during the week, start loading the dishwasher and... cook!
This is the picture of the first cooking of biscotti.

E' molto gratificante vedere Elora, Briana e Ann "litigare" su quanti biscotti possa Briana portare a casa e quanti invece possa tenere qui Ann.

Il momento migliore per me arriva quando Ann dice che i cantucci per lei sono preziosi, e che se li vuole nascondere e razionare il più possibile. Briana mi sussurra che, prima di lasciare il Colorado, dovrò prepararne una generosa scorta per tutti!

Mi sembra di riconoscere qualcuno... Oh aspetta, so chi è: mia mamma con i canestrelli!

It is very rewarding to see Elora, Briana and Ann "arguing" about how many biscotti Briana can take home and how many Ann should keep here.

The best moment for me comes when Ann says that biscotti are precious to her, and that she wants to hide and ration them as much as possible. Briana whispers to me that, before leaving Colorado, I will have to prepare a generous stock for everyone!

I feel like I recognize someon ... Oh wait, I know who it is: my mom with another kind of biscotti!

Mi sbilancio: preparo anche patatine fritte e carbonara per cena. Mando un messaggio ad Ann per chiederle se le vada bene, e lei mi risponde dicendo che le sue amiche sono gelose: lo prendo per un sì!
I want to do more: I prepare french fries and carbonara for dinner. I send a text to Ann to ask her if she is ok with this, and she replies by saying that her classmates are jealous: I take that as a yes!

Nel pomeriggio vado a fare una passeggiata nei campi con Ann, mentre ci raccontiamo avventure passate, guardiamo il paesaggio e il sole tramontare.

In the afternoon, I go for a walk in the fields with Ann, while we tell each other past adventures, we look at the landscape and at the sun while it's setting.

Dopo cena andiamo con Bri, Justin ed Elora a prendere uno jogurt con frutta, servito da un cassiere molto carino!
After dinner, we go with Bri, Justin and Elora to take a frozen yogurt with fruit, served by a very cute cashier!

Sono molto stanca ma super contenta per questa giornata in cucina: buona notte!

I'm very tired but super happy for this day in the kitchen: good night!

Cari amici, è finita la vacanza più bella della mia vita. Grazie per essere delle persone così speciali, con cui è stato così facile divertirsi, scherzare ed essere noi stessi.

Grazie Laura, Pia, Federica, Cedric, Gaetano, Matteo, Eline e Valentina: dobbiamo mantenere la promessa e fare una vacanza insieme, ovunque vogliate, perchè siete i migliori e ci divertiremo sicuramente.

Ricorderò ogni singola risata, momento, attività, foto, ballo, proprio tutto!

Grazie per aver reso questa vacanza così... indimenticabile!!!

Dear friends, the best holiday of my life is now over. Thanks for being the such special people, with which it was so easy to have fun, joke and be ourselves.

Thanks Laura, Pia, Federica, Cedric, Gaetano, Matteo, Eline and Valentina: we must keep the promise and go on vacation together, wherever you want, because you are the best and it will definitely be fun.

Ora ho nel mio telefono le città dove vivono i miei amici, e posso dire che oggi le temperature di Loveland non hanno nulla da invidiare a quelle del Texas o dello Utah!
I now have the cities where my frinds live in my phone, and I can say that today temperatures in Loveland did not have anything to envy to the ones in Texas or Utah!

Colazione all'aeroporto di San Francisco, ore 5 della mattina (che sarebbero le 3 alle Hawaii)!
Breakfast in the SFO airport, at 5 am (which is 3 am in Hawaii)!

Prendo il volo Honolulu-San Francisco con Inga, Tirill e Sander, e facciamo colazione insieme, prima di separarci alle 7, quando noi ragazze saliamo sull'aereo per Denver e Sander va invece in Oregon: che bei compagni di viaggio!
I take the Honolulu-San Francisco flight with Inga, Tirill and Sander, and we have breakfast together before we depart at 7 am, when we girls board on the plane to Denver and Sander on the one to Oregon: such nice fellow travelers!

Viaggiare di notte ha i suoi vantaggi: siamo stanchi morti, e ci addormentiamo appena spengono le luci dell'aereo. Le cinque ore di viaggio volano via, e arriviamo a San Francisco senza neanche accorgercene. Lo stesso succede per il secondo volo, verso Denver!
Flying at night has its own advantages: we are dead tired, and fall asleep as soon as the plane takes off. The five hours on the plane fly away, and we arrive in San Francisco without even realizing that. The same happens for the second flight to Denver!

Sono arrivata a casa sana e salva: Ann e Gary sono venuti a prendermi in aeroporto, ho raccontato la vacanza, ci siamo fermati per un caffè, abbiamo fatto un frullato di frutta (rinfrescante!) e ho dato loro qualche regalo/souvenir che ho preso alle Hawaii!
I got home safely: Ann and Gary picked me up at the airport, I told them about the vacation, we stopped for a coffee, we had a fruit smoothie (refreshing!) and I gave them some gifts/souvenirs that I bought in Hawaii!

I riposini delle 2 del pomeriggio, in pigiama e sotto le coperte, sono i migliori!
2 pm naps in pijamas and under the blankets are the best!

La prof di inglese (la mia preferita!) mi prepara un pacchetto in cui mi lascia tutti i compiti e appunti della settimana.
The English teacher (my favorite!) prepares a packet for me where she leaves all the homeworks and notes of the week.

Andare alle Hawaii nasconde anche dei lati negativi, o perlomeno dolorosi: le strisce epilatorie. Devo ammettere che quando mi assiste la mia mamma, i risultati sono decisamente migliori, ma mi posso dire comunque soddisfatta (e sollevata)!
Going to Hawaii also hides some downsides, or at least painful aspects: the depilatory strips. I must admit that when my mom helps me, the results are much better, but I can say that I'm satisfied (and relieved) anyway!

Finisco di fare la valigia, preparo i biglietti per l'aereo, che parte domani mattina alle 7:55, per far scalo a San Francisco e arrivare a Honolulu alle 3 del pomeriggio circa.

Dipingo le unghie dei piedi di verde, mentre metto soltanto lo smalto trasparente sulle dita delle mani.

Ho sempre paura di dimenticare qualcosa, ma per adesso non penso manchi nulla (incrociamo le dita).

I finish packing my suitcase, prepare the tickets for the plane, which takes off tomorrow morning at 7:55, to fly

 to San Francisco and then to Honolulu, landing at about 3 in the afternoon.

I paint my toenails with green nail polish, while I just put clear nail polish on the hands.

I'm always afraid of forgetting something, but for now I can not think of anything missing (fingers crossed).

Pranzo da "On the border" con Will, dove Ann, Barbara ed io dividiamo un piatto e va benissimo, perche capita troppo spesso che, uscendo da un ristorante messicano come questo, si sia così pieni da voler rotolare (e oggi non è successo!)
Lunch at "On the border" with Will, where Ann, Barbara and I share a plate and that's great, because it too often happens that, coming out of a Mexican restaurant like this, you are so full that you would like to roll (and today it did not happen !)

Shopping giornaliero: Un profumo da Victoria's Secret di cui mi sono innamorata (si chiama Hot Crush), per il quale ho risparmiato $10, grazie ad un coupon scaduto che Ann stava per buttare via, ma che hanno accettato perchè entro la settimana dalla scadenza! Mi sento fortunata!
Daily shopping: a perfume from Victoria's Secret that I fell in love with (it's called Hot Crush), for which I saved $10, thanks to an expired coupon that Ann was about to throw away, but which worked because it was still within a week from the deadline! I feel lucky!
