Day100

GIORNO CENTO!
DAY ONE HUNDRED!

Very weird fruit that I saw at the supermarket and that made me curious!

Subway for luch: 1/2 sandwich with meatball marinara. I admit that I was suspicious, but it turned out to be a good alternative to my beloved chili!

Dustin while taking off the ice from the dashboard: it's freezing in the morning!

Spirit day: ci dobbiamo vestire a tema, e oggi è "Country Club". Ops.

Spirit day: we have to dress up following the theme "Country Club". After reading this, Barbara and I understand cowboy and cowgirls (thank you Matt and Mike for laughing with us, you are so fun!), so here I am, wearing a shirt (that I borrow from Ann) and boots. The sad thing is that "Country Club" actually means wearing a polo, golf rolled on the shoulders and nice shoes.
Ops.

I buy two boxes of cookies that I'll bring to school tomorrow: in the second period (English), after taking a vocab test, we'll eat and read the book "tuesdays with Morrie (it's a book that I suggest to anyone, as it's touching, flawing and, in my opinion, wonderfully written. My grandma died from this horrible disease and the day we started reading the book in class, I burst down in tears, because words are so powerful that sometimes they trigger memories...)

Day40

GIORNO 40

DAY 40

Today we went hiking all day, so I'm really tired (but delighted to have seen such a beautiful place!), so I'll write what we did point by point.
-We take four hours by car, looking for a path that eventually we do not find, so we opt for another, however charming: beautiful day, blue sky, colored leaves that change color from green to yellow to orange.
-We come back, have ice cream, go to subway (for me chicken salad, eat at home).
-I prepare breakfast and lunch for tomorrow, review some homework and then sleep.

German girl who was an exchange student 4 years ago (she came back here for an internship in a hospital, as she's studying medicine in Germany): I talk with her during the whole hike and I love it!

Day11

GIORNO 11

Capito mamma?
Buona notte.
P.s. Mi manchi Ann!

DAY 11

This morning I wake up early, have a good breakfast with milk and coffee, cereals with blueberries and raspberries and a kiwi.
I tidy up my bedroom and I can tell that the result is satisfying!
Afterwards I Skype with my brother and we talk about school (he gives me some advice and help) and anything else. My parents are up in the mountains and picked up some prunes from the trees and they'll come back in a few minutes to prepare fruit jam with them: I Skype with them, too, and I'm surprised when they send me the picture of how much marmalade they've made (42 jars!). Gary tells me: "Maybe you'd like to be at home now to eat them" but then I show him the pic and he says: "Well, maybe you'll find something remained by the time you come home!". Did you hear, mum? Keep some for me!
During the morning I text Katie, a nice girl I met yesterday at school, and we decide to do the shop (tonight I'm making pasta with Bolognese sauce and Barbara tiramisù) and eat something together.
Besides a rude shop-assistant who doesn't understand our words on purpose, we find everything, pay and save 1$ thanks to a coupon that Gary gives us.
Now we have lunch at Subway with Katie and we talk a lot. I eat an Italian 6 inches bread with meatballs, and I love it!
Gary asks us if we want to go to the Corn Roast Festival in Downtown Loveland: it's very typical! We walk among the stalls and we stop in the art studio where Ann takes her painting lessons. It's seems like a huge make-up shop, full of colors, brushes and sponges. It's fascinating.
My mommy sends me the recipe for Bolognese sauce and I start working on that. But when it comes to cut the onions, my eyes break down in tears. I find a solution: I wear my swimming goggles and as soon as Gary sees me, he starts laughing and takes a picture (I also laugh: the situation is funny but it's the only way I can do that!).
Eventually the dinner is very good and we can all go to bed, happy, after a sweet hug from Gary, who wanted to thank us for the dinner (well, we have to thank you, for everything you do for us every day!). Good night.
P.s. I miss you Ann!
