GIORNO 245

DAY 245

La giornata inizia con una Chiara spaventata quando legge un messaggio di suo fratello, che alcune volte sa essere proprio ciula: grazie Teo, ci voleva!

Nell'ora buca, vado a correre per cinquanta minuti e mi sento proprio bene quando finisco. Poi abbiamo una partita di tennis, che però viene cancellata perchè inizia a piovere.

Poi mi chiama Valentina e parliamo per una buona ora, passandola praticamente a dirci le novità e ridendo!!

Mi ridipingo le unghie perchè si sono rovinate alle estremità, e mi rilasso sul divano dopo cena guardando The Voice, ed è il momento più bello della giornata!!

The day starts with a scared Chiara, when she reads a text from her brother, who sometimes knows to be right very silly: thank you Teo, I really needed it!

During the off hour, I go running for fifty minutes and I feel so well when I'm done. Then we have a tennis game, but it gets canceled because it starts to rain.

Then Valentina calls me and we talk for a good hour, practically spending it telling us the news and laughing!!

I repaint my nails because they are chipped at the ends, and I relax on the couch after dinner watching The Voice, and this is the best moment of the day!!

Day61

GIORNO 61

Questa mattina faccio Skype con la mia famiglia e racconto tutte le cose che sono successe nella settimana e in particolare l'homecoming di ieri sera!
Poi esco per andare a correre, ma c'è un vento fortissimo, quindi torno indietro e concludo solo 1.5 km. 
Per pranzo cucino pasta con pomodoro per Barbara e me.
Nel pomeriggio studiamo un po' e poi riproviamo ad andare a correre, questa volta insieme: farò da "personal trainer" a Barbara, e oggi iniziamo con un "allenamento a intervalli", alternando corsa e camminata sostenuta. 
Poi, quando torniamo a casa, scarichiamo l'app "7 minutes workout" e facciamo gli esercizi in sala (per gli ultimi tre ci raggiunge anche Ann, divertita!). Good job!
Per cena Barbara cucina polpette (molto buone, voglio imparare la ricetta!!) e patatine fritte, poi guardiamo il film "Indiana Jones - I predatori dell'arca perduta" (ci sarà un'attrazione dedicata proprio a questo film a Disneyland) e andiamo a dormire. 
Prima di addormentarmi penso: "Tra due giorni, a quest'ora, sarò in California..."

DAY 61

This morning I Skype with my family and tell them all the things that happened during the week and in particular we talk about homecoming!
Then I go out to go running, but there is a strong wind, so I go back home and conclude only 1.5 km.
For lunch I cook pasta with Marinara sauce for Barbara and me.
In the afternoon, we study a bit and then we try again to go running, this time together: I will be Barbara's "personal trainer", and today we begin with an "interval workout", alternating running and fast walking. 
Then, when we get home, we download the app "7 minutes workout" and do the exercises in the living room (for the last three exercises, Ann joins us, and she laughs a lot!). Good job!
Barbara cooks meatballs (delicious, I want to learn the recipe!!) and fries for dinner, then we watch the movie "Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Ark" (there will be an attraction dedicated to this film at Disneyland) and go to sleep.

Before going to sleep, I think: "In two days, at this time, I'll be in California..."

Day41

GIORNO 41

Nell'ora di inglese facciamo un gioco su alcune parole che dobbiamo studiare per il test di vocabolario di domani, e mi capita di vincerlo, quindi ricevo tre caramelle come premio e sono molto divertita. Nell'ultima ora, invece, abbiamo il primo laboratorio di anatomia-istologia (osserviamo cellule di diversi tessuti) e sono entusiasta di questo!
Poi ho cross country, con le foto di gruppo (dobbiamo indossare una lunga divisa nera e soffriamo un sacco il caldo).
Per cena siamo ospiti di amici di Ann e Gary: mangiamo all'aperto e trascorriamo una bellissima serata tutti insieme!

P.s. Sara ed Erica, grazie di cuore per avermi scritto, aggiornata e divertita, oggi, con i vostri messaggi. Sono piccole cose che però significano tantissimo per me. 
Un abbraccio forte forte forte, anche se da molto molto lontano, vi voglio bene!!! <3 <3

DAY 41

In the English lesson we do a game on some words that we have to study for the vocabulary test that we'll have tomorrow, and I happen to win, so I get three candies as a reward and I think it's very fun. In the last hour, we have the first anatomy-histology lab (we observe cells of various tissues) and I'm excited about this!
Then I have cross country, we take group photos (we have to wear a long black uniform and we suffer a lot from the heat!!).
For dinner we are guests of friends of Ann and Gary: we eat outdoors and have a wonderful evening all together!

Day14

GIORNO 14

Una cosa che ho notato qui in America è che tutti gli insegnanti scrivono alla lavagna all'inizio della lezione (o talvolta ancora prima che entriamo in aula) l'obiettivo della giornata, ovvero quello che impareremo. Ci spiegano che fanno questo perchè nel caso il direttore entrasse in classe e chiedesse a qualsiasi studente cosa si sta facendo, questi lo deve sapere.
Comunque, la mattina inizia con Computer Graphics e, quando la campana non è ancora suonata, scatto una foto del computer che utilizziamo (un Apple per ogni postazione!).
Tutto procede normalmente e durante il pranzo raggiungo alcune compagne di Cross Country che ogni martedì si riuniscono in un cottage all'esterno dell'edificio scolastico per prendere parte al cosiddetto "Eco Club". Quando entro mi spiegano di cosa si tratta: i partecipanti si occupano di piantare nuovi alberi attorno alla scuola e di promuovere stili di vita eco-sostenibili. Durante il pranzo non si parla troppo di questo, ma socializziamo con tante persone di tutte le età!
Pomeriggio Cross Country e poi per cena abbiamo ospiti speciali: Beth e sua figlia, amici di Ann e Gary che sono in America per qualche settimana ma che ripartiranno presto per l'Uganda, dove attualmente vivono!

DAY 14

I noticed something here in America: all the teachers always write on the board what is the Target of the day. They explain us that they do that just because if a principle comes in the class and ask anybody what we're doing, we have to know what to answer.
Anyway, I start the morning with Computer Graphics and take a picture of the computer we use (an Apple for every student!)
Everything is great and for lunch I join some Cross Country teammates who gather every tuesday in a little cottage outside the school to take part in the "Eco Club". When I come in they explain me what it's about: they plant new trees in the school and promote sustainable lifestyles. We don't talk a lot about that but socialize with many new people!
Cross Country in the afternoon and then dinner at home with special guests: Beth and her daughter, Ann and Gary's friends who are here just for some weeks before come back to Uganda, where they now live!

Franci, ho una brutta notizia: mentre facevo il bagno mi si è sciolta la tua treccina... Conserverò il lungo filo nella quale era avvolta e sarà un cuore speciale per me.
