Allenamento di Track in piscina: correre in acqua. E' stata dura, ma ce l'abbiamo fatta!

La giornata inizia con l'ora di cucina, durante la quale abbiamo una ospite che ci mostra come preparare un dolce a base di meringa. Chiede di due aiutanti in cucina, e mi offro subito volontaria: mi diverto a smanettare, aiutare, imparare. Che bella ora!
The day starts with the cooking class, during which we have a guest speaker who shows us how to prepare a dessert composed of meringue. She asks for two helpers, and I immediately offer myself as a volunteer: I have fun while helping and learning. What a beautiful hour!

Alle 10 del mattino, vado a vedere il film "La grande scommessa" con Will. Tratta la crisi del 2008, dal punto di vista di investitori che si arricchiscono prevedendo e scommettendo sulla caduta dei mercati. E' stato un film abbastanza difficile da seguire in inglese, per i termini specifici e i passaggi non sempre troppo chiari, ma molto interessante: lo riguarderei sicuramente!
At 10 am, I go to watch the movie "The big short" with Will. It's about the crisis of 2008, from the perspective of investors who get rich by betting on the fall of the markets. It's been a quite hard movie to follow in English, due to the specific terms, but it was very interesting: I would definitely watch it again!

Nel pomeriggio vado a correre nel vicinato (dove le strade sono "praticabili") e poi mi rilasso guardando questa nuova serie televisiva.
In the afternoon I go running in the neighborhood (where the streets are "viable") and then I relax watching this new tv series.

Ho iniziato a guardare sul mio pc la serie "Chicago Med", che è simile a Grey's Anatomy e che mi ha gia appassionata!I started on my pc the season "Chicago Med", which is similar to Grey's Anatomy and which I already love!

La giornata inizia da Starbucks, per incontrare Kathy e sua figlia e per trascorrere una bellissima giornata insieme...
The day starts at Starbucks, to meet Kathy and her daughter and to spend a wonderful day together...

Andiamo in questa pizzeria di Loveland, chiamata "Arte pizzeria", dove la pizza è fatta davvero a regola d'arte: non è unta nè pesante, ma davvero simile a quella che troverei in Italia -- ho infatti promesso a Maddalena che la porterò qui sicuramente quando viene a dormire da me!
We go to this pizza place in Loveland, called "Arte pizzeria", where the pizza is very well made: it's neither greasy nor heavy, but really similar to the one I would find in Italy -- I actually promised Maddalena to take her there when she comes to spend the night here!

Che bella giornata... Sono proprio fortunata e mi sento di ringraziare tutte le persone che stanno rendendo questa esperienza ogni giorno più significativa.

Ok, questa faccia poco probabile ha un perchè: è sabato mattina, il primo giorno di un weekend lungo che durerà fino a martedì compreso, e decido di andare in piscina, dove faccio 100 vasche, e in palestra, dove corro sul tapis roulant. Nel mezzo, mi regalo 15 piacevoli minuti nella vasca idromassaggio all'aperto: la sensazione sul mio corpo, quando finisco le vasche ed apro la porta per uscire all'aperto, mi lascia senza fiato (nel senso letterale -- sembra entrare in una camera frigorifera, con soltanto un costume bagnato addosso...), ma, non appena entro nella vasca, non c'è sensazione migliore al mondo. Vengo a nuotare in questo centro ormai da cinque mesi, ma non avevo mai avuto il coraggio di provare questo paradiso terrestre: ebbene, è giunta l'ora che questa diventi un'abitudine!

Well, this unlikely face has a reason: it's Saturday morning, the first day of a long weekend that will last until Tuesday, and I decide to go to the swimming pool, where I swim 100 laps, and to the gym, where I run on the treadmill. In between, I give myself a pleasant 15-minutes in the outdoors hot tub: thee feeling on my body, when I finish the laps and open the door to go outside, leaves me breathless (literally -- it seems like going into a freezing room, with just a wet costume on...), but as soon as I enter the hot tub, there is no better feeling in the world. I've been going swimming in this center for five months now, but I never had the courage to try this earthly paradise: well, it is time to make this a habit!

Tapis Roulant -- Treadmill

E' incredibile come il mio cervello funzioni cento volte meglio dopo aver fatto sport e con una buona tazza di caffè e latte di fronte a me!
It's incredible how my brain works a hundred times better after having done sports and with a good cup of latte in front of me!

Questa volta però ho "tradito" Starbucks, per questo bar caratteristico nei dintorni della palestra/piscina...
This time I "betrayed" Starbucks though, in favor of this caracteristic cafe close to the gym/swimming pool...

Ed eccoci qui: dopo tutte queste belle cose, entro nel negozio di forniture per artisti dove Ann frequenta le sue lezioni di pittura. Ho la fortuna di poter assistere ad un'ora della sua lezione, durante la quale le "studentesse" si scambiano commenti sui propri lavori, l'insegnante fa una dimostrazione sulla realizzazione di quadri che hanno per soggetto i fiori, e le "studentesse" si mettono al lavoro per creare il proprio vaso, composizione e sfondo. Vedere la maestria con cui si muovono con i pennelli mi fa sperare di avere questa stessa abilità, anche se lascia molto a desiderare in me!

And here we are: after all these beautiful things, I enter this supply store for artists where Ann attends her painting classes. I am lucky to be able to be a spectator of an hour of her lesson, during which the "students" exchange comments about their works, the teacher does a demo on how to make paintings whose subject is flowers, and the "students" start to work to create their own vase, composition and background. Seeing mastery with which they move with the brushes and paint makes me hope to have this same ability, even if it leaves much to be desired in me!

E, per finire questa giornata piena, Ann, Barbara ed io andiamo a correre nel parcheggio di un centro commerciale (uno degli unici posti in cui non c'è ghiaccio sull'asfalto), per seguire il nostro programma verso i 5km!

And, to conclude this full day, Ann, Barbara and I go running in the parking lot of a mall (one of the few placed where there's no ice on the asphalt), to keep up with our program towards the 5k!

Dopo la lavatrice, rifaccio il letto ed aggiungo una nuova, bella coperta: pronta per andare a dormire? Non ancora, perchè guardiamo il (bel) film "Sette Anime". Buona notte a tutti!!!!
After the laudry, I re-do my bed and I add a new, beautiful blanket: ready to go to sleep? Not yet, 'cause we watch the (good) movie "Seven pounds". Good night to everyone!!!!
