Day149

GIORNO 149

DAY 149

Big smile and happiness, in my bedroom with the music while it's snowing outdoors

Prima ora: buca (sarà così tutti i giovedì questo semestre). Mi andava di camminare e correre...
First period: off (it'll be like this every Thursday this semester). I was up for walking and running...

And, to complete this active day: 20 minutes of stationary bike! It's in the basement and we can use it with different programs: weight loss, burning fat... With the music, paddling almost seems nice!

Carmen, Student Council "president", is writing on the board all the events that we'll organize or take part in, in this semester.

Here are the comments (in red and blue ink) that Matt and tanner, Seniors in the Student Council, left on my "survey"...

"Do you intend to run for Student Council for the 2016-17 school year?"
"No, I'll not be here unfortunately"
:( :(

"Thank you for being part of our Stu-CO! You have been such a big help! Coming to a whole new "life" is hard and you did great!"

"You have done an amazing job this year! I am very happy you joined Stu-CO and have gone out of your comfort zone. I am very happy to have met you!"

Besides the fact that I was moved when I read this thoughts, I want to tell you something:
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.

Ann and Gary went snowshoeing. They said it was beautiful! Unfortunately, on the way home, it started snowing and they got stuck in the traffic: Barbara and I are therefore responsible for our dinner, which will be... half a bagel with philadelphia, plus fruit and vegetables!

Day25

GIORNO 25

DAY 25

This morning I Skype with my family: the day always begins with a plus when I talk with them. Today came also my grandfather to say hi and I felt really close to him. We talked for two hours and we could go on but it seemed too much to me, so we hung up the call! I'll receive a great present for the New Year's Eve, but I will not give too many details now, out of superstition. I promise that as soon as it successfully completes, I will write everything here. Meanwhile, I can only say a big thanks to my family <3
In the morning I do some homework (American history, and I write my first Medical Story for anatomy), while Barbara cooks her couscous.
For lunch we eat smoked salmon cooked by Gary, with squash - particular zucchini that I think do not exist in Italy - pear and cheese.
Immediately after lunch we go shopping at Centerra and Barbara buys a chai tea while I take a cafe mocha (which is now my absolute favorite). Meanwhile Ann and Gary go for a 5 km walk in just 55 minutes (congrats! Giuseppe, my great Italian friend, and I, made the same walk in Italy in almost the same time, taking into account that, however, we are forty years younger than them, oops!).
Then we go to a store and I try some Levis jeans but none of them is as I would like them, so we go to another shop, Old Navy, and, with Ann and a cashier's help, I finally find the pair of jeans I'm looking for: comfortable, not tight!
Returning home we stop at the supermarket to buy more mozzarella, tomato and yeast for the pizza that I will do tomorrow: I will have to double the dose because Shane and Briana will join us!
The couscous is delicious!!
After dinner we watch "Bridget Jones's Diary" and then go to sleep.

Day3

GIORNO 3 - DAY 3

A walk in the neighborhood: families set up stalls and sell all the things they don't need anymore!

We go to take a 5.7 km walk around a lake in Longmont: the nature is amazing!

We buy my trainers in a specialized shop, where you can try on your shoes on a treadmill which record your perfomance and finds out your critical ponts. I find out that I tend to turn in my right feet, so the salesperson suggests me this light-blue shoes which will support me, as I'll be running 6 days per week for the nexy 3 months!

Tonight we buy pizza at Domino's (a chain which sells about 100 pizzas per hour) and we eat it on the coach while we're watching the film "Mean Girls".

Buona notte.
I go to sleep and I find the solution for the light that comes in through the window in the early morning: I hang a blanket on the window and.. Good night!
