Day43

GIORNO 43

Oggi è una super giornata: nell'ora di disegno iniziamo la nuova unità, che riguarderà i ritratti, mentre durante lo Student Council parliamo della settimana dell'homecoming, che sarà piena di attività serali (cinema, kickball, volleyball, e... party!). Nell'ora di modern america, il prof ci fa leggere qualche articolo sullo sfruttamento minorile e ci distribuisce un gelato per ciascuno!!!
Nel pomeriggio vado in ospedale per un corso di formazione sulle regole da seguire, sul nostro ruolo di volontari e poi visitiamo la struttura. Mentre cammino per i corridoi, non mi sembra vero che il mio sogno più grande si stia realizzando, e ogni passo fra queste mura lo rende sempre più tangibile...
Poi mangiamo con Will e, dopo cena, leggo che il mio pacco di amazon è stato consegnato: Barbara è più eccitata di me (è curiosissima di vedere come sarà il vestito per l'homecoming), quindi corriamo fuori dalla porta e andiamo a prenderlo.
Appena arriviamo a casa, andiamo in camera mia e provo il vestito: mi piace tantissimo. Ha molti glitter, ma è completamente in tema con il tipo di festa, quindi non vedo l'ora di indossarlo!!!
Nel pacco ci sono anche le due "divide" per l'ospedale: una è fucsia, più allegra, l'altra è verde, stile Grey's anatomy (che fra l'altro, qui in US, inizia domani con la 12esima stagione!).

DAY 43

Today is a super day: in the drawing hour we start a new unit, which will cover the portraits, while during the Student Council we talk about the homecoming week, which will be full of evening activities (cinema, kickball, volleyball, and ... dance party!). In modern america hour, the teacher makes us read a few articles on child labor and he distributes ice cream to each one of us!!!
In the afternoon I go to the hospital for a training course on the rules to follow, on our role as volunteers and then we visit the facility. As I walk through the halls, it does not seem true to me that my biggest dream is becoming true, and every step between these walls makes it more tangible...
Then we eat with Will and, after dinner, I read that my package from amazon was delivered: Barbara is more excited than me (she's curious to see what my dress for homecoming looks like), so we run out of the door and go to pick it up .
As soon as we get home, we go into my room and I try the dress: I love it. It has many glitters, but it is completely in keeping with the type of party, so I'm looking forward to wearing it!!!
In the package, there are also the two scrubs clothes for the hospital: one is pink, more cheerful, the other one is green, Grey's Anatomy style (which, by the way, will begin tomorrow evening with the 12th season here in the US!) .

Day42

GIORNO 42

Nell'ora di disegno finisco il progetto, quindi nel tempo rimasto Barbara ed io ci mettiamo a contare i giorni effettivi di scuola rimasti prima di andare in California, prima delle vacanze di Natale e prima della fine della scuola (qui, andando tutti i giorni fino alle 3, recuperiamo le ore in più avendo qualche weekend lungo distribuito per ogni mese!).
Poi cross country con un allenamento pesante: 5 x 800 m, per fortuna non c'era il sole che picchiava!
Ceniamo presto, circa 6.30, poi riguardo alcuni argomenti e vado a dormire alle 8.30, distrutta!!!

Ps Come mi hanno fatto notare i miei genitori, è fuorviante il fatto che cia siamo messe a contare i giorni rimasti ( è una cosa che entrambe facciamo anche nel nostro paese, ed è fatta soltanto per i giorni di scuola) : sembrerebbe che vogliamo tornare a casa. 
NON È COSÌ!
Sono entusiasta di questa esperienza, e voglio sfruttarla al meglio giorno per giorno, godendo di tutti i momenti qui, insieme a Barbara, Ann, Gary, la mia famiglia Americana e gli amici.

DAY 42

In the drawing class I finish the project, so Barbara and I spend the remaining time to count the actual school days left before going to California, Christmas holidays and school end (here, as we go every day until 3 pm, we have the extra days off every month!).
Then cross country practice is with a heavy workout: 5 x 800 m, but fortunately there was no sun beating down on us!
We have dinner early, at about 6:30 pm, then I review some homework and I go to sleep at 8:30 pm, very very tired!!!

Ps My parents made me notice that the fact that we counted the days left (it's something we both do every year and it is just for school days) can be deceptive, as it seems that we want to come back home.
IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!
I'm extremely enthusiastic about this experience and I want to live and enjoy everything from every single day here, with Barbara, Ann, Gary, my American family and friends!!

Day41

GIORNO 41

Nell'ora di inglese facciamo un gioco su alcune parole che dobbiamo studiare per il test di vocabolario di domani, e mi capita di vincerlo, quindi ricevo tre caramelle come premio e sono molto divertita. Nell'ultima ora, invece, abbiamo il primo laboratorio di anatomia-istologia (osserviamo cellule di diversi tessuti) e sono entusiasta di questo!
Poi ho cross country, con le foto di gruppo (dobbiamo indossare una lunga divisa nera e soffriamo un sacco il caldo).
Per cena siamo ospiti di amici di Ann e Gary: mangiamo all'aperto e trascorriamo una bellissima serata tutti insieme!

P.s. Sara ed Erica, grazie di cuore per avermi scritto, aggiornata e divertita, oggi, con i vostri messaggi. Sono piccole cose che però significano tantissimo per me. 
Un abbraccio forte forte forte, anche se da molto molto lontano, vi voglio bene!!! <3 <3

DAY 41

In the English lesson we do a game on some words that we have to study for the vocabulary test that we'll have tomorrow, and I happen to win, so I get three candies as a reward and I think it's very fun. In the last hour, we have the first anatomy-histology lab (we observe cells of various tissues) and I'm excited about this!
Then I have cross country, we take group photos (we have to wear a long black uniform and we suffer a lot from the heat!!).
For dinner we are guests of friends of Ann and Gary: we eat outdoors and have a wonderful evening all together!

Day40

GIORNO 40

Oggi siamo andati tutto il giorno a camminare, quindi sono davvero stanca (ma contentissima di aver visto un posto così bello!) e scriverò per punti quello che abbiamo fatto.
-All'andata 4 ore in macchina per cercare un sentiero che però non troviamo, quindi ne scegliamo un altro, in ogni caso affascinante: giornata splendida, cielo azzurro, foglie dai colori che virano dal verde, al giallo, all'arancione. 
-Ritorno solo 1 h 30, gelato, subway (per insalata di pollo, mangiamo a casa).
-Preparo colazione e pranzo per domani, ripasso qualche materia e poi nanna.

DAY 40

Today we went hiking all day, so I'm really tired (but delighted to have seen such a beautiful place!), so I'll write what we did point by point.
-We take four hours by car, looking for a path that eventually we do not find, so we opt for another, however charming: beautiful day, blue sky, colored leaves that change color from green to yellow to orange.
-We come back, have ice cream, go to subway (for me chicken salad, eat at home).
-I prepare breakfast and lunch for tomorrow, review some homework and then sleep.

Ragazza tedesca che è stata exchange student 4 anni fa, che è tornata per un internship in ospedale (studia medicina in Germania) e con cui parlo durante tutta la passeggiata!

GIORNO 39

Oggi faccio Skype con la mia famiglia, e appendo un post it alla porta che invita Justin ad entrare in qualsiasi momento voglia, per salutare mio fratello. 

Per pranzo abbiamo ospiti: lontani cugini di Ann: è la prima volta che si incontrano, anche se sembrano conoscersi da una vita!

Dopodichè andiamo tutti al Chilson Recreational Center: struttura con piscina, palestra, campi da basket e pallavolo. 

Facciamo prima qualche esercizio con i macchinari che ci sono nella palestra di sopra, poi ci cambiamo negli spogliatoi ed entriamo in piscina.

E' il mio paradiso e mi godo ogni singola bracciata delle vasche che faccio. Grazie per questo splendido regalo!

Dopo aver nuotato per una mezz'oretta, Barbara, Justin ed io andiamo a giocare: facciamo qualche scivolata su uno scivolo divertentissimo, ci facciamo trasportare dalla corrente e ci godiamo una calda vasca idromassaggio. Wow!!!

Poi camminiamo per una decina di minuti e andiamo al Coffe Tree: il caffè è cento volte migliore di quello di Starbucks e siamo contenti dei nostri acquisti.

Per cena Justin è lo chef: ci prepara uova strapazzate, complimenti!

DAY 39

Today I Skype with my family, and hang a post it on my bedroom's door which invites Justin to enter at any time he wants to, to say hi to my brother.

For lunch we have guests: Ann's cousins ​​(even if she had never met them before, they seem to have known each other for a long time!).

Then we all go to Chilson Recreational Center: it's a facility in Loveland with swimming pool, gym, basketball and volleyball fields. 

We start with some exercise machines that are in the gym, upstairs, and then we go to the locker room, get ready and get into the pool.

It's literally my paradise and I enjoy every single stroke of the laps I do. Thank you for this wonderful gift!

After swimming for half an hour, Barbara, Justin and I go to play: we do a few slides on a water-slide, we come into the "flowing river", and enjoy a hot hydro-massage pool. Wow!!!

Then we walk for about ten minutes and go to Coffee Tree: coffee is a hundred times better than Starbucks and we are pleased with our purchases.

Justin is the chef for dinner: he prepares scrambled eggs, congrats!

Day38

GIORNO 38

Oggi mi sveglio molto molto riposata: ieri sera mi sono fatta una tazza di camomilla e ho preso una bustina di Spidifen (antidolorifico) perchè avevo mal di testa, quindi ho dormito benissimo e la giornata è iniziata con energia!
A scuola va tutto bene e durante la pausa pranzo alcuni studenti raggruppano noi exchange student per un'intervista/foto di gruppo.
Dopo la scuola, per celebrare l'inizio del week-end nel miglior modo per me, vado al supermercato e compro gli ingredienti per una... Sacher! Non vedevo l'ora di farne una sin dal primo giorno in cui sono arrivata, quindi per me questo è un momento speciale!
Ho fotografato tutte le fasi della preparazione e mi scuso, possono sembrare monotone, ma sono importanti per me!
Ann torna a casa, viene in cucina, iniziamo a parlare e scherzare e il risultato è che faccio cadere un uovo prima sui miei pantaloni e poi per terra: Ann, siamo una coppia formidabile in cucina!!
Justin starà con noi durante il weekend, e sono davvero contenta di questo.
Per cena mangiamo una quiche con formaggio e broccoli e per dessert la Sacher, guardando "Jurassic Park",
Dopodichè faccio Skype con Beppe, che mi aggiorna su tutte le sue mitiche avventure!
Ora si che posso andare a dormire, felice e tranquilla.

DAY 38

Today I get up very rested: last night I made a cup of chamomile tea and I took Spidifen (a painkiller) because I had a headache, so I slept very well over the night and the day started with energy!
At school it's all good and during the lunch break some students comes to us, exchange student, for an interview/group photo.
After school, to celebrate the beginning of the weekend in the best way for me, I go to the supermarket and buy the ingredients for a ... Sacher (Italian chocolate cake with chocolate cream and apricot jam)! I was looking forward to making it since I first came here, so this is a special moment for me!
I took pictures of all the stages of preparation and I apologize, they may seem monotonous, but they are important to me!
Ann comes into the kitchen, we start talking and joking, and the result is that I drop an egg on my pants first and then on the ground: Ann, we are a formidable pair in the kitchen !!
Justin will be with us during the weekend, and I'm really happy for this.
For dinner, we eat a quiche with broccoli and cheese and for dessert Sacher, while watching "Jurassic Park".
Then I Skype with Beppe, and he tells me all of his legendary adventures!

Now I can go to sleep, happy and peaceful.
