Day73

GIORNO 73

Oggi non andiamo a scuola, ma sveglia alle 7: aiutiamo Ann e Gary per la preparazione della vendita di libri per raccolta fondi per un paio d'ore, poi andiamo a nuotare, a scuola per i colloqui genitori-professori e torniamo a casa per mangiare. 
Dopo pranzo guardo un episodio di Grey's Anatomy, provo a fare un test di medicina (mhmh, è ancora troppo difficile...) e poi bussano alla porta: sono arrivati i due pacchi che aspettavo tanto: quello dalla mia famiglia e l'iphone (che però ora non funziona perchè devo comprare una nano sim -- Briana mi porta nel negozio del mio operatore e mi tagliano la sim: ready to go!). Sono contenta!
Preparo la cena insieme a Barbara, e ci sono sia Briana che Will.
Poi guardiamo un film tutti insieme -- "Zoombieland"

DAY 73

Today we do not go to school, but weak up at 7: we help Ann and Gary for the preparation of the book sale for fundraising for a couple of hours, then we go to swim, to school for parent-teachers conference and get home to eat. 
After lunch I watch an episode of Grey's Anatomy, I try to do a test of medicine (mhmh, it is still too hard...) and then someone knocks on the door with the two packages that I've been waiting for so much: the one from my family and the iphone (but it does not work now because I have to buy a nano sim -- Briana takes me to Cricket's shop and they cut my sim so that it's ready to go!). I am happy!
I prepare dinner with Barbara, and both Briana and Will join us.
Then we watch a movie together - "Zoombieland"

Day72

GIORNO 72

Piove ancora, e ho il test di calculus: la giornata potrebbe sembrare triste, MA... non lo è!
Durante il periodo buco, andiamo a mangiare fuori, e ci accompagna in macchina Tristan, un ragazzo che abbiamo conosciuto ultimamente e con cui mi piace davvero tanto parlare e scambiare opinioni. 
Prendiamo un paio di free cookie a Kingsoopers per poi andare da Starbucks e prendere qualcosa di caldo.
Poi torniamo a scuola, Barbara fa Skype con una sua amica, e io con la mia migliore amica: la mia mamma. Non posso dire altro se non: grazie di tutto <3.
Nel pomeriggio guardo l'episodio di Grey's Anatomy che avevo registrato la settimana scorsa (e che non avevo visto perchè eravamo a L.A.) ed è uno dei migliori della serie fino ad ora.
Poi andiamo a vedere la partita di pallavolo della squadra che allena Will: "Will... cheer up and stay strong!"!
Controllo la posta, e c'è la notifica di un pacco che è stato consegnato ma, non essendoci nessuno a casa, è stato trattenuto nell'ufficio postale. Leggo meglio e noto che arriva da un paese particolare, la cui sigla è... IT! Non vedo l'ora di aprirlo!!!

DAY 72

It's still raining, and I have a calculus test: the day might seem sad, BUT... it is not!
During the free period, we go out to eat, and Tristan drives us: he's a boy we met recently, and I really like to talk to him and exchange opinions with him.
We take a couple of free cookies at Kingsoopers, then we go to Starbucks and get something warm.
Then we go back to school, Barbara makes Skype with a friend of hers, and I Skype with my best friend: my mom. I can not say anything else: thank you for everything <3.
In the afternoon, I watch the episode of Grey's Anatomy that I recorded last week (that I had not seen since we were in LA) and it is one of the best in the series so far.
Then we go to the volleyball game of the team that Will coaches: "Will... cheer up and stay strong!"!
Then I check the mail, and there is a notification of a package that was delivered but, since there was no one at home, he was detained in the post office. I read it better and I realize that it comes from a particular country, whose acronym is ... IT! Can not wait to open it!!!

Oggi fa tanto tanto freddo, così mi copro a strati.
Ho sonno, vado a dormire presto...

DAY 71

Today it's really really cold, so I wear very warm clothes.
I am very tired, so I go to bed early...

GIORNO 70

La giornata si apre con un'alba mozzafiato.
Poi andiamo a scuola, in piscina (100 vasche!), al ristorante (questa volta il piatto è davvero molto piccante, fin troppo!) e al Coffee Tree per una mocha. Faccio una camminata nel vicinato e, quando torno, stretching, seguendo un tutorial su you tube. Barbara nel frattempo disegna e mi raggiunge per fare il "secondo round" di stretching: ci divertiamo molto!

DAY 70

The day starts with a breathtaking sunrise.

Then we go to school, to the pool (100 laps!), to the restaurant (this time the dish is very spicy, almost too much!) and to the Coffee Tree for a mocha. I take a walk in the neighborhood, and when I come back, I stretch, following a tutorial on you tube. 

In the meanwhile, Barbara is drawing and then she joins me to do the "second round" of stretching: we have fun together!

Day69

GIORNO 69

Il rientro a scuola dopo una vacanza così, è davvero duro, ma sopravviviamo.Torniamo a casa con lo scuolabus, e Barbara riceve il suo pacco dal Belgio: è pieno di cibo, soprattutto cioccolato (specialità belga), e i suoi genitori sono così dolci che mettono un pacchetto di pasta apposta per me!Poi, per cena, Ann prepara uno stufato di pollo e Will mangia con noi. Dopo molte risate, vado a fare una passeggiata con Barbara e poi a dormire.

DAY 69

Going back to school after a holiday like this, it's really really hard, but we survived.We come back home with the school bus, and Barbara receives her package from Belgium: it is full of food, especially chocolate (Belgian specialty), and her parents are so sweet that they put a packet of pasta just for me!Then, for dinner, Ann prepares a chicken stew and Will eats with us. After laughing all together, I go for a walk with Barbara and then we sleep.

If only we still were in California...

Ann e Gary si ricordano che, in California, ci è piaciuto molto l'hummus (crema a base di ceci), e ne hanno comprato uno, preparando questo piattino di snack!

Day68

GIORNO 68

Questa mattina faccio Skype con la mia famiglia, e mi piace molto molto parlare con loro (non siate gelosi, ma la mia mezz'oretta con la Franci vale di più di ogni altro momento nella giornata!!!).
Poi per pranzo Gary prepara hamburger alla griglia: sembrerà inverosimile, ma è il primo che mangio da quando sono negli States (era ora!).
Dopodichè vado in ospedale per il mio primo giorno come volontaria: mi danno un badge/pass e una maglietta, e poi inizio con Emily e Sarah. 
I sorrisi e le chiacchierate con i pazienti sono due degli aspetti più gratificanti di questa attività: è un sogno che diventa realtà e che mi rende davvero felice.
Poi passiamo da Will, con Briana, Ann e Barbara: la settimana prossima una nuova inquilina si trasferirà nella loro casa e gli uomini si devono preparare. La parte più divertente arriva quando Briana, guardandosi attorno, dice: "Will, mi sa proprio che dovrò investire una intera giornata per aiutarti!".
Dopo cena, passeggiata con Barbara, Skype con Beppi e poi nanna!

DAY 68

This morning I Skype with my family, and I like to talk to them very much (do not be jealous, but my half hour with my Francesca is worth more than any other time in the day!!!).
Then for lunch, Gary prepares grilled burger: it will seem far-fetched, but this is the first that I ate since I've been in the States (finally!).
Then I go to the hospital for my first day as a volunteer: I am given a badge/pass and a T-shirt, and then I start with Emily and Sarah. 
The smiles and chats with patients are two of the most rewarding aspects of this activity: it is a dream coming true, and it makes me really happy.
Then we stop by Will, with Briana, Ann and Barbara: next week a new girl will move into their home and the men must prepare for that. The fun part comes when Briana, while looking around, says: "Will, I guess I'll have to invest a whole day to help you!".
After dinner, Barbara and I go for a walk, I Skype with Beppi and then to sleep!
