Foto che ho scelto per l'evento del mio ritorno in patria. Vorrei che venissero tutte le persone che mi conoscono, per questo ho creato un evento su Facebook, cercando di invitare tutti e non dimenticare nessuno.
Se però qualcuno nè è rimasto fuori, per mia colpa, perchè magari non ha un profilo Facecbook o per qualsiasi altro motivo, ma state leggendo il blog (cosa che mi fa tanto piacere e mi fa sentire piena!!), siete caldamente invitati a partecipare!
Ecco la descrizione che ho messo insieme:


"Cari amici,

Il 30 maggio farò ritorno a casa, dopo 10 mesi di bella vita nel Paese dei Balocchi.

Ho pensato di organizzare un rinfresco nel tardo pomeriggio, aperto a chiunque volesse salutami dopo tanto tempo.
Ci saranno snack e bibite, ma siete più che benvenuti a contribuire con qualsiasi delizia che pensate possa essere mancata alla sottoscritta - sopravvissuta a colpi di Fast Food e Starbucks!

Non vedo l'ora di rivedervi tutti tutti!!
Nel frattempo vi mando un bacio grande e un abbraccio forte.

Americans, I'm not gonna translate this, because it's about my Italian reunion on the 30th of May in Milan, and I sadly know that nobody will be able to make it out there... This is just the picture I chose for the event!

Oggi è il lunedì della mia ultima settimana completa a scuola: in ogni classe, dovrò sostenere un esame cumulativo con gli argomenti di tutto il semestre, ma poi avrò circa due settimane di tempo libero, da trascorrere con amici e in famiglia, esplorando posti non ancora visti nel Colorful Colorado e, tempo permettendo, passando le giornate all'aperto, magari facendo un picnic o sdraiandomi sul prato a leggere e prendere il sole. Lo so, sono fortunata e non ho fatto nulla per meritarmi tutto questo, però vivo con la filosofia del: "goditelo finchè puoi!".

Today is Monday of my last full week at school: in every class, I have to take a cumulative final exam, but then I will have about two weeks of free time to spend with friends and family, exploring places that I haven't seen yet in Colorful Colorado and, weather permitting, spending the days outdoors, perhaps taking a picnic or laying down on the grass reading and sunbathing. I know I'm lucky and I have done nothing to deserve all this, however, I live with the philosophy of "enjoy it while you can!".

Torno a casa camminando, e mi viene da ridere quando inizia a piovere: c'è stato il sole per tutto il giorno, ma mi becco l'unica mezz'ora di pioggia della giornata, mentre cammino ascoltando la musica e tenendo sulle spalle lo zaino.
 Ma non è finita qui: tempo dieci minuti che sono a casa, il sole spunta di nuovo ed appare una arcobaleno in cielo.

I go home walking, and I have to laugh when it starts to rain: it was sunny all day, but I get the only half hour of rain of the day, as I walk while listening to music and bearing my backpack on my shoulders.
But there's more: after ten minutes that I'm at home, the sun comes out again and a rainbow apperars in the sky.

Cena e libro per la patente all'aperto.
Poi Barbara mi sorprende, chiedendomi in italiano leggendo dal suo cellulare: "Vuoi andare a fare una passeggiata?" Ma certo! Usciamo in pigiama e infradito, ma a chi importa? Il sole ancora splende e noi siamo spensierate!!

Dinner and book for the driving license, outside.
Then Barbara surprises me, asking me in Italian, reading from her cellphone: "Do you want to go for a walk?" Of course! We go out in pajamas and flip flops, but who cares? The sun still shines and we are carefree!!

Poi iniziamo a ballare in terrazza, con molto poco senso del ritmo, ma tanto, tanto divertimento: questi sono ricordi che terrò per sempre!
Then we start dancing on the porch, with a very little sense of rhythm, but lots, lots of fun: these are memories that I'll keep forever!

Quando fuori inizia a far freddo, rientriamo, e io guardo The Voice alla televisione, ascoltando delle belle canzoni (la finale si avvicina e la gara si fa più competitiva ed interessante)!

When it starts getting colder outside, we come back in, and I watch The Voice on the tv, listening to some very good songs (the finale is approaching and the race becomes more competitive and interesting)!

Day242

DAY 242

In mattinata dormo tanto, faccio la lavatrice, vado a camminare per un'ora e mezza, faccio un veloce FaceTime con i miei nonni (che mi dicono che hanno voglia di rivedermi: grazie per le parole dolci!) e vedo il mio fratellone e il papi - gli uomini di casa, non mi deludono mai!! Poi, dopo pranzo, mi addormento sul divano per un'altra ora e mezza, e quando mi sveglio, Gary mi chiama "Sleepyhead" e mi viene da ridere!

In the morning, I sleep in a lot, do the laundry, go for an hour and a half walk , do a quick FaceTime with my grandparents (who tell me that they can't wait to see me again: thanks for the kind words!), and I see my brother and the daddy - the men of the house, they never disappoint me!! Then, after lunch, I fall asleep on the couch for another hour and a half, and when I wake up, Gary calls me "Sleepyhead" and I laugh!

Ann suggerisce di aggiungere all'acqua qualche fragola surgelata, per tenerla fresca e aromatizzarla (e cercare di imitare lo Strawberry Acaj di Starbucks): l'esperimento riesce a metà, ma è sempre divertente provare!
Ann suggested to add a few frozen strawberries in my iced water, to keep it fresh and flavor it (and try to imitate the Strawberry Acaj from Starbucks): the experiment succeeds in half, but it's always fun to try!

Il miglior modo per concludere la giornata è guardare questo film in famiglia: "Una notte ad leoni", ambientato a Las Vegas. Che figata!!
The best way to end the day is watching this movie with the family: "The Hangover", set in Las Vegas. So cool!!!

Oggi mancano esattamente 2 settimane prima del mio compleanno, e ho una richiesta per tutti voi lettori. Vi ho sempre sentiti molto vicini, ma per il giorno in cui divento adulta, vorrei chiedervi qualcosa di speciale: se pensate di volermi fare gli auguri quel giorno, sareste disposti a registrare un video di voi, così che io possa vedere la vostra faccia e sentire la vostra voce, e mandarmelo via mail (chiara498@live.it) o messaggio Facebook, Whatsapp...? Significherebbe tanto per me, perchè penso sia molto diverso dai messaggi "impersonali" che riceverei sul mio profilo Facebook.

Se mi volete bene, se avete letto le mie storie per 242 giorni, se vi ho in qualche modo intrattenuti... per favore dedicatemi 10 secondi e sarò la ragazza più felice del mondo! Aspetto con ansia!!

Today it's exactly two weeks before my birthday, and I have a request for all of you readers. I have always felt very close to you, but for the day when I become an adult, I would like to ask you something special: if you think you want to wish me happy birthday, would you take a video of you, so that I can see your face and hear your voice, and send it to me via e-mail (chiara498@live.it) or message it on Facebook, Whatsapp ...? It would mean so much to me, because I think it's very different from the "impersonal" texts I would get on my Facebook profile.

Primavera significa anche jeans a vita alta, maglioncino più leggero e tanti sorrisi!
Spring also means high waist jeans, lighter pullover and many smiles!

Progetto 3D per la classe di calculus: Nicole, compagna di classe e di tennis, viene a casa nostra dopo l'allenamento e, dopo 2 ore di duro lavoro, concludiamo il progetto!
3D project for the calculus class: Nicole, classmate and tennis player, comes to our house after practice and, after two hours of intense work, we complete our project!

Oggi è l'ultimo giorno di dissezione del gatto: tiriamo tutti un sospiro di sollievo, perchè non è sempre stato facile prendere in mano il bisturi e tagliare per un'ora e mezza pelle, muscoli, organi. Ma sono stata in un gruppo bellissimo, e ho potuto osservare dal vivo tutto quello che studiavamo in classe, e non ha prezzo.

Grazie America, ricorderò tutto quello che ho visto e toccato, e sarò sempre grata per averlo potuto fare durante la scuola superiore.

Today is the last day of cat dissection: we all pull a sigh of relief, because it was not always easy to pick up the scalpel and cut for an hour and a half skin, muscles, organs. But I was in a wonderful group, and I could observe everything we studied in class, and this is just priceless.

Thanks America, I will always remember everything I've seen and touched, and I will always be grateful for having been able to do this in high school.

Justin ed Elora si svegliano prestissimo, anche se andranno a scuola più tardi, e si mettono in posa da boss mentre io sto per uscire. La giornata inizia con il sorriso!
Justin and Elora wake up very early, even if they'll go to school later, and they pose like a boss while I'm about to go out. The day starts with a smile!

Ceniamo con Will e poi giochiamo a carte: Ann vince tutte le mani, come è possibile? Un po' di bravura c'è sicuramente, ma siamo tutti impressionati dalla incredibile fortuna che sembra sempre giocare dalla sua parte... Ma devo ammettere che ci divertiamo tanto insieme, e questo è quello che conta di più!

Poi guardiamo il primo episodio della seconda stagione di "Better Call Saul" -- spin off di Breaking Bad -- e poi nanna.

We have dinner with Will and then play cards: Ann wins every hand, how is it possible? A little bit of skill is definitely there, but we are all impressed by the incredible luck that always seems to play on her side... But I have to admit that we have a lot of fun together, and that's what counts the most!

Then we watch the first episode of the second season of "Better Call Saul" - the Breaking Bad spin off - and then go to sleep.

Questa è la prima foto che vedo stamattina quando accendo il telefono: Haakon, il mio amico norvegese, me l'ha mandata (grazie, mi hai regalato un bel risveglio!) in ricordo dei bei momenti che abbiamo passato insieme alle Hawaii. Sembriamo un po' pazzi, ma d'altra parte era questo l'obiettivo della vacanza!
This is the first picture that I saw this morning when I turned on my cell phone: Haakon, my Norwegian friend, sent it to me (thank you, you gave me a good awakening!) in memory of the good times we spent together in Hawaii. We seem a little bit crazy, but this was exactly the aim of the holiday!

Questa mattina vado a correre per 45 minuti, perchè mi perdo: Ann mi ha consigliato di provare ad andare nel vicinato di fronte al nostro, e io ero entusiasta di cambiare un po' la routine, così ieri mi ha fatto vedere dove attraversare e mi ha spiegato la strada da seguire.
Peccato che una Chiara un po' addormentata alle 8.30 della mattina e con scarso senso dell'orientamento, finirà per perdersi e girare attorno allo stesso percorso per mezz'ora.
Che donna -- tutta suo padre...
This morning I go running for 45 minutes, because I get lost: Ann suggested that I should try to go in the neighborhood in front of ours, and I was excited to change my routine, so yesterday she showed me where to cross the road and explained the path to follow.
Too bad that a little sleepy Chiara at 8:30 in the morning and with a little sense of direction, will eventually get lost and run around the same path for half an hour.
What a woman -- just like her daddy...

Dopo questa avventura, torno a casa, faccio una doccia ed esco di nuovo insieme ad Ann, per una lunga passeggiata (circa 1 ora), durante la quale è bello guardarci attorno e chiacchierare.

Mi sembra di essere in vacanza in montagna!

Verso la fine, ci fermiamo per una chiacchierata a casa di suoi cari amici. Poi torniamo indietro e usciamo di nuovo con Barbara!

After this adventure, I come home, take a shower and go out again with Ann, for a long walk (about 1 hour), during which it's nice to look around and chat.

I seem to be on vacation in the mountains!

Towards the end, we stop for a chat at her dear friends' house. Then we go back and go out again with Barbara!

Contenta di andare da Starbucks con Barbara ed Ann e di andare a far la spesa, comprando gli ingredienti per cantucci e tiramisu! Particolarmente piacevole è il sole che splende e la temperatura attorno ai 20°C: che paradiso...
Happy to go to Starbucks with Barbara and Ann and go out shopping, buying the ingredients for biscotti and tiramisu! Especially nice is the sun shining and the temperature around 70°F: what a paradise...

Tiramisu -- too bad the 45 minutes in the car "kill" it: it's outside the refrigerator and it's all bouncy, so that the egg whites loose the air and softness, becoming kinda liquid. I did it for Shane, because I know how much he loves it, and I worked on it for 2 hours in the afternoon, so I'm kinda disappointed when I see how it transformed after the car driving, but I can only say that I'll learn from the experience...

Questa sera andiamo da Briana, dove ceniamo e seguiamo gli Oscar: non ho visto nemmeno uno dei film candidati, ma compilo comunque il foglio delle "scommesse" su quale vincerà ciascuna categoria. Peccato che lo show sia davvero noioso e ripetitivo, ma grazie Briana e Shane per la vostro ospitalità e divertente compagnia!
This evening, we go to Briana's, where we have dinner and follow the Oscars: I have not seen even one of the nominated movies, but anyway I fill "betting" sheets on which one will win each category. Too bad the show is really boring and repetitive, but thanks Briana and Shane for your hospitality and fun company!

Questa sera vado a letto pensando e ripensando a domani, perchè inizierò lo sport primaverile, con un sorpresa: non si tratta di atletica (correre non mi piace proprio, e non voglio passare gli ultimi tre mesi qui in America praticando tutti i giorni uno sport che sarebbe soltanto un peso per me), ma sarà... tennis! Sono molto esaltata perchè è completamente nuovo per me, ma proprio per questo non vedo l'ora di iniziare e scoprire come saranno la squadra e l'allenatore, partecipare alle mie prime partite, allenarmi all'aperto, sfidare Gary -- o forse no, siamo su livelli troppo alti in questo caso!

Buona notte e non vedo l'ora di scrivere domani per farvi sapere come sarà andata!!

This evening, I go to bed thinking and thinking about tomorrow, because I will start the spring sport I chose, with a surprise: it'll not be track (I do not like running, and I do not want to spend my last three months here in America, every day practicing a sport that would only be a burden to me), but it will be... tennis! I'm very excited because it's completely new to me, but because of this I can not wait to get started and find out how the team and the coach will be, take part in my first games, train outdoors, challenge Gary -- or maybe not , we are of too high levels in this case!

Good night and I can not wait to write tomorrow to let you know how it will have been!!

Mi ero dimenticata la foto del conto alla rovescia, quindi la aggiungo quando sono a letto, prima di andare a dormire... -5!!
I forgot to put the countdown picture, so I add it when I'm in bed, before going to sleep... -5!!

Gary mi ha dato questa sua maglietta da mettere sopra i vestiti quando seziono il gatto, dato che ogni volta schizza da tutte le parti e non è molto piacevole... Grazie!!
Gary gave me this Tshirt to wear over my clothes when I dissect the cat, since it splits everywhere all the time and it's not very pleasant... Thank you!!

Alla base si vedono Angelique e Monika, amiche e compagne di weight lifting. Siamo state insieme nello Student Council sin dall'inizio, ma ora stiamo legando e ogni giorno aspetto l'ora di sollevamento pesi per parlare con loro!
At the bottom, you can see Angelique and Monika, friends and weight lifting classmates. We've been together in the Student Council since the beginning, but now we're bonding and every day I look forward to the weight lifting hour to talk with them!

Prendo un appuntamento all'Apple Store: andrò con Ann domenica mattina, prima del super ball (partita importantissima per il football Americano, e in particolare per Denver, perchè giocano i Broncos).
Passeremo una mattinata insieme, noi due sole, e mi godrò questo tempo con lei prima della partenza per le Hawaii!
I take an appointment at the Apple Store: I'll go with Ann on Sunday morning, before the super ball (very important match for American football, and in particular for Denver, because the Broncos play).
We will spend a morning together, just the two of us, and I'm going to enjoy this time with her before leaving for Hawaii!

Cucino la carbonara per Ann e Gary, che stasera andranno a vedere una commedia a teatro, e poi per Barbara e me: essendo Barbara alla partita di basket per la performance di danza, e non volendola lasciar mangiare da sola, decido di preparare la pasta in due volte e cenare insieme a lei!

I cook pasta carbonara for Ann and Gary, who tonight will go to see a comedy at the theater, and then for Barbara and me: Barbara is at the basketball game for the dance performance, and I don't want her to eat alone, so I decided to prepare the pasta twice and have dinner with her!

Tutto sembra pronto!!!
