Day262
GIORNO 262
DAY 262
Aiuto.
I ask for a minute of silence: today is a sad day, because it is April 29, only one month before my departure. My heart belongs to here, my perfect place, the place where I found myself, where I met only beautiful people, where I felt very strong emotions, and I can not think that I have only thirty days left here.
If I wanted to keep myself from crying, unfortunately I could not.
Help.

DAY 154
I left my home on Aug. 12, 2015, and, it seems weird (at least to me), but today is January 12, 2016, and I've been here for exactly five months.
THANK YOU for your closeness, we are now at more than half of the adventure...

Today the Track & Field practice is indoor (yeah!), we are divided into groups (I choose the sprinters, who run 100, 200 and 400 m), we run for an hour and then we lift weights for the rest of the workout. The hardest things for me are:
1) Strides with reflections, in which you lie on the ground on your back and, when the coach yells "Go", you have to turn around and get up as quickly as possible and start running,
2) Weightlifting: I do not feel strong at all and I resist and complete the exercises only because we are in a group and I do not want to be the only one that does not finish, but believe me, I had to put myself to the test!!
I must say that I like Track hundred times more than cross country, because there are so many specialties that I can choose my favorite (100 m), instead of running continuously for 5k (I am able to endure so much just when I swim, since I love it, but running, thirty minutes, mhmhmhmh, it's for someone else...).
I'm very happy today!

GIORNO 56
"Have a great day!
DAY 56
"Have a great day! :)" The day can only start well, when your host mum leaves this post it on the breakfast tablecloth!During the computer graphics class I create a poster for a piano concert, and I dedicate it to my favorite pianist, my little sister!
I receive a message from Valentina, a friend of mine's girlfriend, who told me that she's reading the blog daily and I am more than happy, because for me this is precisely the purpose of writing every day: feeling close to you all, so thank you so much!
Then I do the anatomy test, and today in particular it is a matter of pride, because it's about the integumentary system, which is my mother specialty!
Then we go back home by bus, and it is really cold (13 °C at 3 pm!): Barbara prepares a snack with toasted bread and Nutella, I prepare a hot tea to try to warm up, and I must say that it works well, because after half an hour my body reaches a comfortable temperature!
We prepare the swimming bag and... let's go to the pool. Justin is coming with us and we have fun all together. Once finished, we reach Ann in the library and then we go home to have dinner.

Day52
GIORNO 52
DAY 52
Today I come back to my earthly paradise, the swimming pool, and I swim a lot, enjoying every lap. I finish my '"workout", go into the hydro-massage pool with Barbara and then we reach Ann in the library. We talk a lot and Barbara pulls out a can of sparkling water with lemon (my favorite) for me: what a super woman! We would like to invite Ann to eat at Mo Betta gumbo, but she is too full and not hungry, so Barbara and I go alone, and we order the same dish as last time: that is so good !!! Barbara exaggerates adding a spicy sauce, so she takes it off with the napkin and we both laugh a lot because the situation is really fun.
Then Barbara buys a frappuccino mocha at Coffee Tree and we sit down on the couch, chatting.
We come home, watch the movie "Easy A / Girl" with Ann and spend a wonderful evening all together.
Thanks for everything and Barbara Ann, you have given me such a beautiful day!

GIORNO 48
DAY 48
Today I wake up full of energy: I rested well and I'm ready for a new week.During the art class, we learn to draw eyes and I'm satisfied with my work when I see that I can produce something more realistic than those species of almonds with a bullet (pupil) at the center that I've been drawing so far!
Then, before the beginning of cross country practice, Laurel, a teammate of mine, gives me her Secret Sister Gift: there are some candies, a body scrub, body lotion, shower gel, body sprays and bath salt. Laurel, thank you so much for this beautiful thought!!
Then, we go home and Gary tells us that this morning, along with Ann, they took a 10 km walk in the mountains: congrats!!
When Ann comes back home from the meeting in the library, she prepares dinner, then we look a bit of television and go to sleep.

Day34
GIORNO 34
DAY 34
Today, the day begins with the recording of "Good Morning" (short song) that Lorenzo, my classmate and buddy, sends me for the beginning of our school in Italy.I thought you'd forgotten our promise, then you made me almost cry this morning when I opened WhatsApp and I heard your voice !!! Thank you <3
Then I go to school, and after that I begin the Cross Country practice: today it was SO hard, we repeated 500 and 800 m up and down from a hill for 15 times , and my breath is put to the test!! When I finish, however, I am tired but energetic, so I put music, I go into the shower, singing and dancing at the same time. That's how I relax!
Meanwhile Ann Marie is downstairs for a meeting with the library volunteers group and they'll have dinner here tonight. I hear and see that they are having fun, so I'm very happy for them.
P.s. The free work you do for the community is extraordinary, I admire you, really!
When I go into my bedroom, I see a little packet from Amazon on my bed: it's my pencil case and I love it!
After dinner we look a bit of television and then go to sleep.

Day10
GIORNO 10
Come ho già detto, è speciale.

DAY 10
First official day of school.
Today it's an emotionally tough day: we meet all the teachers and some american boys and girls, we have lunch outside, we use the lockers for the first time, I do Cross Country and then... home sweet home, at 5.30 pm.
Ann has gone to visit her family, and she left me a postcard under the door to say "good luck": like I said, she's special.
I have to organize my room because it's really messy and everything is on the floor or on the bed, and I say to myself: "Oh no Chiara, it doesn't work like that!"

German room before the lesson. The teacher, who seem really nice, said that once a week he'll just speack in German. He also talked about himself and his life: he was part of the German Air Force, he came here, met his wife, they got married and he changed his profession from soldier to teacher and soccer coach!
Sometimes we cede, and it was the first time for me, during AP Calculus. I was scared because I thought that I couldn't understand anything of the printed problems, even if when I came home and I was more relaxed, I realized that they were absolutely feasible, so I was almost crying. It happens... Being an exchange student means also this: come out of the comfort zone and put our fragilities to test.

Day4
GIORNO 4
DAY 4
This morning we wake up early as we'll go to the airport to welcome Barbara, the other exchange student from Belgium who will share this experience with me. Ann Marie, Gary, Susan (the Aspect coordinator) and I look at every single passenger looking for Barbara and we wonder who will see her first. We wait for an hour but she isn't there yet so we start to worry about her. We call her to her cell phone and just when Ann is sending her a message in her voicemail, Barbara shows up: she already has her suitcases with her and she tells us that she got lost in the airport while she was trying to find us. We are all more relaxed now, so we take some pictures and we go home.
After about an hour we go out again and we pay to create our own cell phone American number (in the cricket shop). It's quite expensive here (40$ per month), but we have 2 gb of internet, free texts and free calls in the States, so it's pretty good!
Then we go to the library (Ann has to check if everything is good with the sale of books for foundraising -- she is a volounteer here and she organizes this kind of activities too).
It's time to eat: we go to Noodle's and I have a "japanese style noodles" which I love!
Then we go into many shops, looking for "Back To School Sales": we just take a look but we don't buy anything because we have to wait until we actually know what subjects we're gonna study.
We also go to the grocery shop and Gary teaches us how to remove the peel from corns: it's really fun!!
We get home and we have free time until dinner, so I have a realaxing bath while I listen to my favourite songs and I think: "I could stay here forever!"
Gary prepares a typical American dinner with hamburgers cooked on barbecue. Will reaches us too and eats with us: we have a very good time all together!
